    Warm caring staff clean facility

I placed my father-in-law here because it's close to family, and we're very happy with the move. The staff are warm, knowledgeable, and truly caring - they worked with our family to manage difficult behaviors and made the transition easy. The facility is clean, well-maintained and odor-free, with bright dining, on-site laundry, two outdoor spaces, and standout, varied daily meals. Activities are excellent (bingo, crafts, holiday events, live music 1-2×/month) and residents are engaged and well-loved. Only downside: occasional understaffing can slow service. I highly recommend this welcoming place.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Traditions of Preston is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on warm, compassionate staff and a clean, well-maintained environment. Care quality is a standout theme: reviewers frequently describe caregivers as caring, attentive, and willing to go above and beyond. Families reported that staff treat residents with dignity and compassion, provide frequent updates, and work with families to manage difficult behaviors. Many comments convey that residents feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for, and multiple reviewers explicitly state they would recommend the community.

Staff culture and interpersonal qualities are consistently praised. Reviewers describe staff as pleasant, accommodating, knowledgeable, and patient. Several comments characterize the team as feeling like family — including frontline caregivers and behind-the-scenes personnel — and note specific staff members by name for exceptional service. Management and directors are described as approachable; although there have been management changes, reviewers indicated that new directors have been good fits. Communication with families and staff responsiveness (when sufficient staff are present) are highlighted as positives.

Facility and physical environment also receive high marks. The building is described as clean, freshly painted, and well decorated with cheery touches like pictures and hand railings. Rooms are noted as spacious, and common areas — especially the bright, open dining area and multipurpose community room — are appealing. The single-level, simple floor plan makes navigation easy for residents. Outdoor amenities include two outdoor spaces such as a gazebo-type area and a porch, which reviewers appreciated. Property maintenance and overall cleanliness repeatedly appear as strengths.

Dining and nutrition are repeatedly singled out as strong elements of resident life. Several reviewers call attention to standout meals, daily menu changes, good variety, and nutritious offerings. Meals are served in a bright dining room but can also be delivered to rooms, and reviewers generally describe mealtimes as enjoyable. Laundry services are available on request and there is on-site laundry, which reviewers noted as convenient.

Activities and social life are active components of the community experience. The activity program includes bingo, daily activities, crafts, holiday events, and periodic live music (reported about once or twice a month). Entertainment is sometimes brought in, and reviewers reported that residents — including family members — were excited about and engaged by the activities. Multiple comments praised the community’s effort to provide a range of social and recreational options that help residents feel entertained and involved.

The most consistent concern across reviews is occasional understaffing that can lead to slower service. While the tone toward staff is overwhelmingly positive, a few reviewers noted that limited staffing levels sometimes affect response times or service speed. Another minor pattern is the mention of management turnover; although new directors were generally seen as good fits, the existence of several leadership changes was noted. These issues were described as occasional rather than systemic problems, and did not overshadow the many reports of attentive caregiving and clean, welcoming facilities.

In summary, Traditions of Preston is portrayed as a caring, well-maintained assisted living environment with strong interpersonal staff qualities, good dining, an active activities program, and a comfortable physical setting. The dominant impression is one of compassionate, professional staff who create a warm, family-like atmosphere and deliver strong day-to-day care. Families and residents frequently express gratitude and satisfaction, describing transitions as easy and residents as well-treated and engaged. Prospective residents should be aware of occasional staffing-related slowdowns and some leadership turnover, but reviews indicate these are not detracting substantially from the positive resident experience.
