    Welcoming community with clean rooms

I moved into a one-bedroom deluxe and immediately felt at home - the staff are friendly, experienced and supportive, very good at personalized (including memory-care) attention and keeping my family informed. My bright, clean room can be personalized, meals are fresh daily with dining-room, in-room and light in-unit prep options, and housekeeping/laundry are included. The community is safe and welcoming with lots of activities (arts & crafts, chapel, daily rosary, happy hour and live music), recent remodels, and a convenient location near the Mayo Clinic.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive. Reviewers repeatedly praise the staff, the quality of care, the cleanliness and décor of the building and rooms, and the variety of activities and programs available. Safety and a supportive atmosphere are highlighted frequently, and families report good communication with management and caregivers. The facility is seen as convenient for those who want services like meals, housekeeping, and laundry included, and its proximity to the Mayo Clinic or the residents' homes is noted as a significant benefit.

Care quality and staffing emerge as the most consistent strengths. Multiple comments describe staff as accommodating, experienced, knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive. Reviewers explicitly note specialized care offerings and memory care personalization, indicating that individualized attention for cognitive needs is available and effective. The theme that residents are "not being pushed out" suggests trust in management and stability of placement, which is important to families evaluating long-term care. Positive family communication is mentioned several times, reinforcing the perception of responsive management and transparency.

The physical environment and living spaces receive generally favorable remarks. Rooms are described as clean, nicely decorated, and allowing personalization, and there are reports of recent remodeling with brand-new cupboards and open community spaces. Common areas and a pleasant dining room are singled out as attractive features. However, a consistent caveat is the size of private apartments: several summaries mention smaller apartments, with small kitchens and small living rooms. This suggests that, while units are tidy and well appointed, prospective residents should be prepared for compact in-unit living and weigh that against the benefit of larger shared community spaces.

Dining and daily services are another strong area. Reviews note fresh daily food, both in-unit food prep and central dining options, and the availability to dine in the dining room or in one’s room. Meals, housekeeping, and laundry being provided as convenient bundled services is appreciated by residents and families. The dining room itself is called out positively, and the combination of good food plus flexible dining options supports both social engagement and individualized needs.

Activity programming and social life are described in detail and positively. Reviewers mention a broad activity slate: arts and crafts, chapel services, a daily rosary, happy hour, and live musicians. The frequency and variety of activities appear to foster a lively community atmosphere and offer spiritual as well as social engagement—important for both general and memory-care residents. Open community spaces and remodeled common areas support these activities and encourage interaction.

Safety, location, and the overall atmosphere round out the favorable picture. Multiple reviewers emphasize a safe environment and a friendly atmosphere. The facility’s proximity to the Mayo Clinic and to residents’ homes is repeatedly noted as a convenience and a deciding factor for families. Taken together, the reviews present a senior living community that is care-focused, activity-rich, clean, and well-managed, with particularly strong staff engagement and family communication.

The primary consistent concern across reviews is unit size: small kitchens, small living rooms, and generally smaller apartments. Prospective residents should consider unit layouts and space needs when touring. Other than space constraints, no systemic negatives are highlighted in these summaries; most comments reflect satisfaction with care, amenities, social programming, and management responsiveness. In summary, Arbor Terrace appears to offer strong clinical and social supports, attentive staff, and a clean, active community environment, with the tradeoff for some residents being compact private living quarters.

    About Arbor Terrace

Arbor Terrace gives seniors a place where they can get help with whatever they need, whether it's managing daily care like bathing or medicine, or something bigger like memory care for Alzheimer's or needing extra support after surgery, and they've really thought about making life easier by offering things like move-in help, dry cleaning, and laundry, so residents don't have to worry about those chores. The staff keeps meals ready all day and can handle special diets, so people can eat when they're hungry and not have to stick to strict times, and the dining rooms are friendly and homey, making eating feel like a regular part of the day, and if someone can't or doesn't want to leave their apartment, there's always someone around to help, and there's a 24-hour call system for emergencies. Seniors here can join a resident-run activities program where they get to plan or join in movie nights, devotional times, walking paths, gardening or painting in a dedicated arts room; sometimes they just sit together in the community rooms and talk, or they go on trips together with the transportation Arbor Terrace provides, and if a resident likes to keep up with a haircut or a shave, the onsite barber and salon services are available. The apartments come furnished and have telephones, emergency alert systems, and a steady schedule of cleaning, so living spaces stay safe and pleasant, and there are options for different needs, like bigger apartments or care suites if someone needs more help. Arbor Terrace can also offer care at many levels, whether it's independent living for folks who want privacy but still some help, or assisted living for people who might need a bit more care with dressing, transferring, or taking medicine, and there's also memory care for seniors with dementia-including programs in a special place called Cascade Creek Memory Care, where everything is set up to reduce confusion and help people feel settled-and they even have waivers for hospice and dementia care, so people facing more challenging health needs can stay. The facility uses something called the Household Model to make things feel home-like and to help residents make real connections, not just with staff, but with each other, and the atmosphere is calm and inviting, helped by the garden spaces and indoor gathering spots. There's transportation and parking, so families can visit or residents can get out for errands, and housekeepers keep things tidy on a regular schedule. Arbor Terrace works with healthcare providers, psychologists, and counselors, and helps manage medications so people get medicine on time and doctor's visits are coordinated. For families who need a break while caring for someone at home, respite care is available too, and there's also home care, so trained aides can help with non-medical needs in residents' own homes if that's a better fit. The community's recognized for friendly staff and strong dining and activities, and folks often talk about how the volunteer programs add something special to the days. Arbor Terrace is a part of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and has a website for those who want more details, and the facility keeps improving thanks to support from local fundraising, which helps update equipment and staff skills and keeps the community focused on health and quality of life.
