    Warm atmosphere, but poor safety

I toured and initially loved the warm greeting, beautiful, well-kept building, friendly attentive staff, good food and lots of activities - it felt homey. But communication and management were poor and turnover high (some interns were wonderful). My mom suffered injuries during her stay, wasn't assessed for PT after surgery and ended up wheelchair-bound; she also hurt her arm on a broken toilet-paper dispenser. There was even a trespass order and police involvement. Mixed feelings: amazing atmosphere and many caring staff, but serious safety and communication concerns - I'd be cautious.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is mixed but leans positive with important and recurring concerns. Many reviewers emphasize the quality of direct caregiving: staff are repeatedly described as attentive, caring, qualified, and passionate. Multiple comments highlight teamwork among staff and instances of loving, attentive care that made families thankful. The front-of-house impressions are strong as well — reviewers mention a warm entrance greeting, friendly staff, and a homelike, well-kept facility with a welcoming lobby and pleasant exterior landscaping.

Facility amenities and programming are clear strengths. The community is attached to a larger community center and offers a range of activity spaces including a large community room, crafting room, pub, cafe, and dining room. Reviewers cite a strong and varied activities program, cooking demonstrations, and regular invitations for residents and families to participate. Dining receives positive mentions for food quality and access to the dining room. The facility is described as affordable by some reviewers. These features contribute to an environment that many residents and families find engaging and comfortable.

Despite these positives, there are repeated and significant concerns around management, communication, safety, and clinical follow-through. Several reviews report poor communication and describe management as shrugging off family concerns. More serious accounts describe injuries occurring during a stay (including a specific arm injury from a broken toilet paper dispenser) and clinical gaps such as a failure to assess physical therapy needs after surgery; one reviewer specifically reported that their loved one became wheelchair-bound after a post-surgical period without appropriate PT assessment. There is also mention of a trespass order and police involvement in at least one situation, which signals the potential for serious incident management issues. These are not isolated comments and should be considered important red flags for prospective families.

Staffing consistency is another mixed theme. While many individual staff and some interns are praised as wonderful and caring, reviewers also note high turnover and a reliance on interns in some roles. This variability may contribute to inconsistent experiences — where some families encounter exemplary, attentive teams and others experience lapses in care or communication. Another nuanced point is resident engagement: although activities are plentiful and well-run, some residents (for example, one reviewer’s mother) did not participate socially, so presence of activities does not guarantee individual social engagement.

In practical terms, the Rosemount Senior Living at Steeple Center appears to offer a warm, attractive, and activity-rich environment with many staff who are compassionate and attentive. However, recurring issues around management responsiveness, safety incidents, clinical follow-through after medical events, and staffing turnover introduce important caveats. Prospective residents and families should weigh the strong daily-life and programming positives against reports of serious incidents and communication problems. If considering this community, ask specific questions about incident reporting and prevention, post-operative/PT assessment protocols, staff turnover rates, and how management follows up on family concerns; also verify current availability since reviewers noted limited or no units available.
