    Good amenities, serious safety concerns

My loved one stayed here. The facility is clean, comfortable and home-like with compassionate, competent staff, good memory care and rehab, nice food and activities. Mostly studio accommodations (some shared two-bedrooms) - not ideal for those needing heavy one-on-one care. However I experienced/alleged serious issues: hospitalization without family notification, staff dishonesty about calls, rough handling (pushing in a wheelchair), forced feeding and poor follow-through on paid extras - though some staff have tried to fix problems. Because of these safety and communication concerns I cannot recommend this place; proceed with extreme caution.

    Summary review

Overall impression: Reviews for Cedar Ridge Place are mixed, with a substantial number of strongly positive comments about the day-to-day caregiving and facility environment counterbalanced by several serious negative allegations and concerns about consistency and communication. Many reviewers praise the staff and describe the home as clean, peaceful, and caring, while others report troubling incidents and poor follow-through that led them to advise removing loved ones.

Care quality and staff behavior: A prominent positive theme is the presence of dedicated, compassionate, and professional staff who treat residents like family. Several reviews describe attentive, respectful care, successful rehabilitation outcomes, and good personalized attention — particularly in memory care settings. Those reviewers often highly recommend the facility. Conversely, there are allegations of unsafe staff behavior reported in other reviews, including claims of a resident being hospitalized without family notification, staff allegedly lying about returning calls, and alleged physical roughness (pushing a resident in a wheelchair) and forced feeding. These are serious accusations that appear in multiple negative summaries; where possible they are characterized in the reviews as alleged incidents. Overall, staff performance appears inconsistent across reviews: some families experience excellent, compassionate care while others report troubling and dangerous behaviors.

Facilities and accommodations: Multiple reviewers describe the physical environment positively: clean, home-like, comfortable, peaceful, calm, and welcoming, with a strategic location. The facility is described as having a comfort-first approach that many residents and families appreciate. However, there is an important limitation in the accommodation model: several notes indicate mostly studio-only accommodations and a shared two-bedroom setup that reviewers say may not be suitable for many residents. That constraint could be a significant factor for families who require private rooms or more varied housing options.

Dining and activities: Reviews generally note that the food is nice and that activities are offered. While not heavily detailed in the summaries, these mentions contribute to the perception of a home-like, engaging environment. Activities and meals appear to be adequate or better according to the positive reviews, supporting the facility’s strengths in daily life and resident comfort.

Management, communication, and billing: A recurring negative theme relates to management, communication, and follow-through. Several reviewers report poor follow-through by staff and management and complaints that extra paid-for care was not delivered as promised. Some comments indicate that staff have been working to fix issues, suggesting management may be responsive in some cases, but communication lapses and billing/service inconsistencies remain a notable concern. Multiple reviewers explicitly state they would not recommend the facility, and a few strongly warn others to remove loved ones, underscoring the seriousness of these operational problems for some families.

Patterns and takeaways: The most notable pattern is the polarization of experiences: many families report compassionate, skilled care and a very pleasant environment, while others report severe lapses in safety, communication, and promised services. Memory care and rehabilitation success are highlighted in positive accounts, making the facility attractive for those needs when the positive scenarios apply. At the same time, the allegations about safety and poor communication suggest the facility may have inconsistent staffing or management practices that lead to variable resident experiences.

Recommendation for prospective families: Given the mixed but polarized nature of the reviews, prospective residents and families should tour the facility, ask specific questions about recent incidents and how they were addressed, confirm policies for family notification and incident reporting, review staffing levels and training for memory care and rehabilitation, and verify contract details regarding paid-for extra services. Also confirm accommodation options and whether the studio-only/shared two-bedroom arrangements meet your needs. The positive reviews indicate the facility can provide excellent, compassionate care in a clean, home-like setting, but the negative reports warrant careful due diligence before placement.

Residents can get spiritual care from on-site or visiting clergy, and there are resources and tools for both care planning and caregiver support. Even though there are pool, fitness centers, and entertainment venues, it's not known what all the interiors look like, and parking and garage setups aren't fully described, but the place is designed for comfort and security. The community doesn't allow pets for residents, but it does honor legal protections on gender identity and source of income and supports LGBTQ rights, because of state and federal law. With all these care options, structured programs, and safety features, Cedar Ridge Place tries to help people keep as much independence and joy in daily life as they can, while making sure support is always on hand.
