    Bright apartments, caring staff, recommended

I'm very pleased with Meadows on Fairview. The grounds and bright, spacious apartments are clean and comfortable. Staff from reception to nurses and therapists are consistently friendly, caring, and professional-Rita and Jodi were especially welcoming. Meals are fresh, activities are plentiful, COVID precautions are taken, and the location near Fairview Hospital is convenient. Overall a warm, well-run community I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Meadows on Fairview is described by families and residents as a well-kept, attractive community with a range of on-site amenities and private, roomy apartments. Reviewers commonly emphasize the facility’s clean interior and grounds, bright common spaces, and practical apartment features such as kitchenettes and accessible bathrooms. The campus is noted for its convenient placement near Fairview Hospital and for offering rehab/physical-therapy services, memory-care programming, and hospice availability.

Care quality and staff behavior are frequent strengths in the commentary. Many accounts highlight compassionate, energetic caregiving staff, a welcoming front desk, and approachable nursing leadership. Staff longevity and a family-like culture are repeatedly mentioned; reviewers praise helpful nurses, patient attendants, and specific office personnel for creating a supportive environment. That said, there is a pattern of mixed experiences around responsiveness: while some guests report prompt attention to call lights and emergencies, others describe delays in obtaining assistance at particular times. This suggests variability in response reliability across shifts or situations.

Dining and activities receive largely positive comments. Meals are commonly described as fresh and homemade, and the community offers a range of activities and services such as bingo, shopping trips, manicure services, worship opportunities, and a beauty salon. A few comments point to inconsistency in meal portioning or service practices, which prospective residents may want to clarify during a visit.

Facilities and amenities are strengths: attractive decor (Northwoods style noted), large windows and bright common areas, patio space, and helpful conveniences like 24-hour laundry and a complimentary weekly laundry load. Private apartments and accessible bathrooms contribute to residents’ sense of safety and independence. The community’s infection-control measures during COVID—screening procedures, temperature checks, and increased air exchange—were also remarked upon positively.

Management and operational patterns show a mix of positives and areas for verification. Several comments praise efficient check-in, welcoming reception staff, and a supportive environment for employees; others raise concerns about communication gaps, instances of unprofessional conduct or lapses in privacy practice, and an incident-level concern about medication effects that points to potential clinical-oversight questions. Cost is another recurring theme: the facility is described as relatively expensive, and reviewers note additional fees for extra assistance or services, indicating the importance of understanding the full fee schedule.

For families considering Meadows on Fairview, useful questions to ask on a tour include: typical staffing levels by shift and response-time expectations for call lights; how medication management and adverse-effect monitoring are handled and documented; specifics about what is included in base fees versus additional charges; privacy and communication policies; and opportunities to observe activities and meal service at different times of day. Visiting during a shift change and speaking with both the nursing leadership and current residents can help clarify the variability noted in responsiveness and service practices.
