    Warm staff but serious issues

I found the home warm, clean and family-like - compassionate nurses and aides, good food, in-house therapy and salon, timely call responses and many staff who truly cared. However, I also witnessed or heard frequent, serious problems: inconsistent cleaning, understaffing, untreated bedsores, unnecessary sedation, falls with poor family notification, alleged theft and rude/poorly managed office staff. I appreciate improvements under new management and the caring employees, but I'd recommend visiting, asking specific questions about wound care, staffing and incident reporting before deciding.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews for Moore-Few Care Center is strongly mixed. A large number of reviewers praise the staff as compassionate, empathetic, and family-like, repeatedly noting outstanding nurses and aides, timely responses to call lights, and staff who make residents feel at home. Multiple summaries highlight in-house therapy, home-based care services, and a focus on maximizing resident function. Reviewers also mention positive facility features such as a clean environment (reported by several families), a great family room, personalized room arrangements, available snacks, a beauty salon, and a variety of services and activities. Several reviewers emphasize improvements and a renewed commitment since new management took over, citing improved communication (phone calls answered) and greater attention to staff and operations. COVID-era accommodations for visitation were appreciated by some families, even as precautions added stress.

At the same time, a troubling subset of reviews raises serious concerns about care quality and consistency. Reported issues include alleged neglect, bed sores not properly treated, poor wound and dental care, and claims of unnecessary patient sedation. Multiple reviewers reported falls; some said families were not notified after incidents. There are complaints about insufficient staffing or not enough help, leading to problems with continence care and mobility-aid handling (for example, reports that walkers were removed or wheelchair placement was mishandled). A few reviewers alleged theft and described rude or unpleasant office staff. Some families reported rapid decline of their loved ones or death within a short time after admission — these are reported experiences and raise concerns though the reviews do not provide medical causal details.

Facility-related feedback is contradictory: while several reviewers call housekeeping "amazing" and describe the home as clean, others explicitly state that rooms were not cleaned regularly. This split in accounts suggests variability in day-to-day operations or differences between units, shifts, or time periods. Dining and resident life receive generally positive mentions — good food selection, snacks, and activities such as salon services — and many residents and families express appreciation for the atmosphere and individualized touches in rooms.

Management and communication are also described both positively and negatively. Some reviews credit new administration with concrete improvements and responsiveness, while others report rude office staff and poor communication around incidents. COVID-19 policies are seen both as a positive (accommodating visits) and a source of strain on staff and families.

Patterns and takeaways: the dominant theme is inconsistency. Many families are highly satisfied and praise the caregiving staff, therapy services, cleanliness, and amenities; others report serious lapses in basic care and safety. The presence of both glowing testimonials and serious allegations suggests that experiences may depend on timing, specific staff on duty, unit-level conditions, or changes under new management. For someone evaluating Moore-Few Care Center, these reviews indicate there are real strengths (committed caregivers, therapy services, pleasant communal spaces) but also potential red flags (wound care, falls management, staffing levels, and communication) that deserve careful attention.

If you are considering this facility, ask targeted questions and verify current conditions: staffing ratios by shift, protocols for fall reporting and family notification, wound and skin care procedures, medication/sedation policies, turnover rates for clinical staff, cleaning schedules, and how complaints are handled. Request a tour during different times of day, speak with current residents and their families if possible, and review recent inspection reports or complaint histories to check whether the concerning issues have been addressed since the reviews that reported them. The reviews reflect both strong positives and serious negatives; due diligence can help determine whether the facility's strengths align with your priorities and whether reported problems have been resolved.

    About Moore-Few Care Center

Moore-Few Care Center sits at 901 S Adams St in Nevada, Missouri, and it's been helping local seniors for 47 years now, offering a warm place where people can get skilled nursing and long-term care, and you'll see 108 beds with room for up to 108 residents, though right now there are about 75 living there, which makes it not too crowded and still lively. The building's had some recent renovations so the surroundings feel modern, and residents get their meals provided, join social and spiritual activities, take part in things like bingo, TV and movie nights, live entertainment, exercise, yoga, stretching, and even off-site field trips if they want a change of scenery. Moore-Few Care Center, for those who need help with daily tasks, gives personal care assistance and medication management, while there's always registered nurses, certified medication technicians, restorative aides, and nursing assistants around every hour of the day for emergencies or extra support, and you can count on their Director of Nursing, Alisha Pryor, and a friendly staff to handle medical supervision, wound care, and pain management.

You find that Moore Few is close to Nevada Regional Medical Center and local pharmacies, so it's handy for doctor appointments and prescriptions, and the property itself includes things like communal dining rooms so no one has to eat alone, a hair salon for staying neat, a convenience market, kitchens or kitchenettes in the rooms, and outdoor spaces for fresh air, plus WiFi access all around for keeping in touch with family. There's guest and family outreach programs to keep loved ones connected and programs for family education and counseling, which helps everyone adjust, and Moore-Few Care Center even welcomes pets or allows for pet visits if that's important. Services cover a wide range, from assistance with daily living to memory care for Alzheimer's and dementia, along with short-term respite care and hospice for end-of-life support, and residents who need extra therapy can get physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy right on site. There's nutritional counseling, restorative nursing, and behavioral health support too, and the staff give both social, dietary, and clinical services under Medicare and Medicaid certifications, so Moore-Few Care Center does take Medicare and Medicaid, and also accepts certain insurance coverage for healthcare needs. You'll find shared common areas, organized programs, primary and specialty care, even emergency services if required, and you don't have to give up hobbies or being social, since activities are planned every week, with outings, classes, and spiritual services on the schedule. Moore-Few Care Center focuses on supporting residents' well-being with skilled care, simple comforts, a sense of home, and a commitment to meeting both individual and community needs, and though the facility doesn't make a fuss about special features or fancy names for programs, you see they stick to steady, dependable service for seniors and their families.
