    Satisfied resident with ample amenities

I live here and overall I'm very satisfied. The food is generally delicious, the dining room and decor are beautiful, and the staff are friendly, informative and genuinely attentive. The facility is modern, clean and well-appointed with large rooms or apartments, an indoor pool and spa, exercise classes, game/card rooms, theater, salon and frequent outings - there's always something going on. Negatives: it can feel understaffed at times, weekends are quieter, food quality can vary, and the price is on the high side.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Reviewers consistently praise Park Place at Winghaven for its aesthetic appeal, breadth of amenities, and personable staff. Many comments highlight the facility’s attractive, upscale appearance — described as beautiful, grand, hotel-like, and welcoming — with a standout courtyard featuring a koi pond, gazebo, ducks, and pleasant outdoor spaces. The lobby and public spaces are frequently noted as clean, well-maintained, and tastefully decorated, contributing to an immediate favorable impression during tours and move-ins.

Facilities and apartments receive repeated commendation. Many residents and visitors report large, well-laid-out apartments with full-size kitchens or kitchenettes, clean appliances, balconies, and thoughtful move-in preparations. Some reviewers describe a newer, luxury feel in parts of the community while also describing a homely and comfortable atmosphere. On-site conveniences such as a beauty salon, workout room, library, movie theater, game/card rooms, and planned recreational additions (e.g., three-hole golf feature) add to the sense that there is much to do without leaving the campus.

Staff and care quality are among the most consistent strengths mentioned. Tour staff are described as informative and personable; caregivers and dining/housekeeping personnel are called attentive, caring, and accommodating. Several reviewers cite specific examples of staff remembering resident preferences, personal greetings and gifts at move-in, regular check-ins, and helpfulness with outings and special events. The overall tone suggests a staff culture focused on resident comfort and personalization, which many reviewers found reassuring.

Dining and food receive mixed but mostly positive remarks. Numerous reviewers praise the dining rooms, varied entrees, special offerings (ice-cream bar, happy hour, birthday lunches), and particular meals (e.g., roast beef, good lunch). The private dining room and flexible dining options are appreciated for family gatherings and special occasions. However, a recurring critique is inconsistent food quality: some reviewers call certain menu items bland or state that the food could be improved, with a few suggesting a chef change would help. A small number of notes mention occasions when lunch service was not available or the COVID-era private dining arrangements remained unused.

Activities and social life are frequently identified as a strong point. The community offers a robust monthly activity list with exercise and art classes, movie nights, live performances, outings to ballgames, concerts, and restaurant trips, plus specialized trips like casino runs. Reviewers often describe the community as active and social, with many events and opportunities for engagement. That said, there are a few reports of uneven programming: some reviewers experienced limited activities on weekends, no formal movie schedule, and periods that felt inactive. A couple of reviews also note understaffing as a factor that may impact the consistency or frequency of programs.

Areas of concern and variability are important to note. While many praise the newer or well-maintained sections, a subset of reviewers point out that some rooms or areas feel outdated. Accessibility within the building layout can be an issue for some residents, with at least one comment noting a long walk to the theater room from certain apartments. Pricing impressions are mixed: some guests found Park Place to be an excellent value or the best bargain for the money, while others felt the cost was high or had concerns about price increases and overall affordability. Additionally, limited availability of studio apartments and a relatively small memory care area were flagged by a few reviewers as potential drawbacks for some prospective residents.

In summary, Park Place at Winghaven is characterized by strong positive consensus around its staff, amenities, ambiance, and active lifestyle offerings. The primary patterns to watch for are variability in dining quality, occasional understaffing or program gaps (notably on weekends), mixed impressions on pricing and affordability, and some unit-to-unit differences in age or layout that can affect convenience. For many reviewers the pros — personalized service, attractive grounds, broad activity options, and comfortable apartments — outweigh the cons, but prospective residents should ask specific questions about meal planning, staffing levels, apartment layout, and current pricing to ensure the community matches their individual priorities.

Park Place at Winghaven sits in WingHaven, close to shopping and dining, and is a community that takes care of seniors with different needs, offering independent living, assisted living, Valeo™ memory care, and skilled nursing in a state-licensed environment, so folks can get more help if their health changes over time. The place has apartments filled with natural light, some with kitchens, and plenty of styles to choose from, so residents can find a space that feels right to them, and there are always plenty of things happening thanks to Valeo™ Signature Programs and the Salus™ and Valeo™ by Solvere wellness philosophies, which focus on the whole person-physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs. For those living with Alzheimer's or other memory problems, there's a dedicated Valeo™ memory care neighborhood that's built to support individual strengths and celebrate each resident's life, aiming to give comfort, purpose, and enjoyment every day. The building has three lounge areas, a movie theater, library, computer lab, billiard and shuffleboard tables, a beauty salon and barbershop, an interior courtyard with a koi pond and putting green, and even an indoor pool and hot tub, so there's always somewhere to relax or something to do. The dining service runs like a restaurant any time of day and serves chef-prepared seasonal meals in a handful of different spots around the property. The Wellness Counts program includes a fitness center, water aerobics, exercise classes, blood pressure checks, flu shots, and talks about health, plus meal planning to help with nutrition. The grounds have lovely walking spots and lots of space to enjoy the outdoors, and since it's pet-friendly, folks can have their pets with them, too. Park Place handles the chores with weekly housekeeping, laundry, and linen services, and has a 24-hour emergency alert system along with a full-time nursing staff who help with medication and daily activities when needed, so people can feel safe and supported. Scheduled van rides help residents get around town, whether it's for errands, doctor's visits, or just a day out, and the community gives tours so people can see what daily life looks like here-including meals, activities, and how neighbors get along. The staff tries to help everyone make the right choices for their needs, and there's a gallery of photos and resource guides to help families understand their options. Folks here get the chance to try new things, meet others, and stay active, but there's always help close by whether living on their own or needing more care as they age.
