    About Richland Care Center

Richland Care Center has served the seniors of Richland, Missouri, for over 50 years and is a non-profit nursing home with 86 certified beds and currently about 40 residents, which means it usually feels open and never overcrowded. People who come here have choices for living, because the care center offers independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and even home care and hospice services, so folks can get the help they need as things change. The center provides both short-term and long-term stays, with skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and respite care all available, and they've got 24-hour licensed nursing on staff, regular visits from a medical director, and a full range of therapists, so if someone needs speech, physical, or occupational therapy after a hospital stay or surgery, or maybe help with wound care or pain management, the services are set up for that. Residents also get help as needed with eating, bathing, dressing, medication management, and moving from place to place, even for folks who use wheelchairs or need transfers.

Every private room comes with a bathroom, cable TV at no extra cost, a kitchenette, phone, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and basic furnishings, and the whole place is fully sprinklered for safety. Housekeeping and personal laundry are taken care of every day, and there's move-in help for new folks. The kitchen staff, including a professional chef and a registered dietician, prepare three meals daily that meet individual medical needs and any special dietary requests, including diabetes, allergies, or doctor-ordered meal plans, and people can also enjoy restaurant-style dining or all-day dining if that works better for them. For relaxing, there's plenty of space to gather, sit outdoors, walk the paths, or join programs in the activity room, garden, library, movie theater, wellness room, arts room, and game room; there are also regular music programs, movie nights, and worship services.

The staff keeps everyone active with daily schedules, community-sponsored activities, events, and family support, and there are resident and family councils where people have a say in things. For those who can't join groups, the staff offers one-on-one time. Folks can get to appointments or outings with transportation services, and there's parking for visitors. The center runs on 24-hour supervision, uses an emergency alert system, and offers services and amenities for both social fun and quiet time. There are staff registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and CNAs on site, and the staffing levels include about a quarter hour of RN time and over an hour each of LPN and CNA time per resident as needed. Safety and health are priorities, as shown by the high vaccination rates and no use of physical restraints.

Programs at Richland Care Center are open to those with Medicare and Medicaid, and the organization doesn't discriminate or limit residents' rights. Administrator Julie Avila leads a team overseen by a 12-member board. While the center isn't part of a bigger hospital or a multi-facility company and doesn't offer full continuing care retirement options, it stands alone in the community, focusing on supporting seniors through whatever stages and needs come up day to day.
