    Neglectful, dirty facility; remove mother

I placed my mother here and had a deeply troubling experience. The building and rooms were dirty and dilapidated, staff were often rude or unprofessional, communication was terrible, and I observed neglect (bedsores, untimely care) that I believe contributed to serious harm; administration was unresponsive. A few caregivers were genuinely kind and meals sometimes decent, but I'm removing my mother and urge an investigation.

    Summary review

The reviews for Fair View Nursing Home are highly polarized, with a mix of strongly positive and very negative accounts that create a conflicting overall picture. A subset of reviewers describe compassionate, resident-centered care: staff who are caring and attentive, a family-like atmosphere, clean surroundings, and good meals providing peace of mind. Multiple reviewers specifically praised the food quality and described meals as prepared with care and nutritionally balanced. Several families reported positive clinical outcomes such as residents being "on the mend" and described high-quality, effective care.

Conversely, a large number of serious negative allegations appear in the reviews, many of which describe neglect and poor clinical care. These include reports of bedsores, residents being left in bowel and urine, dirty dentures and general poor hygiene, and allegations that necessary treatments were not provided in a timely manner — with at least one reviewer directly attributing a death to this alleged neglect. There are also multiple reports of urgent transfers to hospital or ambulance transport following perceived failures in care. These are severe claims and are repeatedly emphasized across negative reviews.

Staff behavior and interpersonal interactions are another major dividing line. Positive reviews highlight genuinely caring, attentive staff and a small-team feel. Negative reviews, however, repeatedly cite rude, hostile, or unprofessional behavior from staff and management. One nurse, Veronica, is named in complaints about unprofessional conduct and hanging up on callers. Other complaints include staff speaking down to residents, use of hostile language, threats of lawsuits, and visitors being ejected for voicing concerns. Several reviewers reported staff ignoring distressed or screaming patients, which compounds the clinical neglect allegations.

Facility condition and equipment descriptions are likewise mixed but tend toward negative in many reports. Some reviewers describe the home as clean and well-maintained, while others call it filthy, dilapidated, and outdated, with broken equipment and poor upkeep. This split suggests variable conditions or differences in expectations, but the presence of multiple reports about dirt, poor maintenance, and outdated/broken equipment is concerning.

Dining and daily life also show conflicting experiences. Positive comments focus on excellent, nutritionally balanced meals and food prepared with care. Negative comments counter with allegations of low nutritional value meals, poor meal quality, and lack of activities — several reviews specifically note an absence of meaningful activities or amenities. This suggests variability in programming or inconsistent delivery of services across residents or shifts.

Management, communication, and administrative processes are frequent sources of complaint. Common themes in negative reviews include poor responsiveness from HR or administration (including reviewers saying calls were hung up on), burdensome paperwork requirements, restricted visitation policies (short 30-minute visits), reported eavesdropping on video chats, and an overall impression that administration prioritizes payroll/finance over resident welfare. Several reviewers explicitly called for investigations or even facility closure, indicating a high level of distrust from some families.

Overall pattern and interpretation: the reviews indicate a split experience at Fair View Nursing Home — some families and residents report excellent, compassionate care and good food, while many others allege serious neglect, unprofessional staff behavior, poor hygiene, insufficient clinical attention, and dysfunctional management. The most alarming and repeatedly reported issues are neglect-related (bedsores, soiling, failure to treat leading to ambulance transfers or worse) and hostile or unresponsive administration. Given the severity of some allegations (neglect, death, ignored emergencies), these patterns warrant careful scrutiny. Prospective residents and families should seek direct, recent, and documented information: visit unannounced if possible, request care logs and staffing ratios, ask for recent inspection or citation records, get specific references from current families, and verify incident reports and follow-up actions by management or regulatory agencies.

In summary, Fair View Nursing Home has testimonials ranging from "amazing care" and "peace of mind" to repeated, serious allegations of neglect, abuse, and mismanagement. The polarized nature of the reviews suggests inconsistent care and operations — where some units, shifts, or staff deliver excellent service while others fall far short. The severity and recurrence of negative claims (clinical neglect, hygiene failures, unresponsiveness, hostile administration) are significant red flags that should prompt further inquiry by families, regulators, or ombudsman services before relying on the facility for long-term or high-acuity care.
