    Caring staff but poor facility

I stayed a month and had a wildly mixed experience. Some staff - a caring on-site nurse, helpful med techs, a welcoming manager (Valerie) and a very capable administrator - were kind, precise, and made me feel at home; the food and housekeeping were often good. But the building is old and depressing with dim corridors, tiny shared rooms, poor privacy, and intermittent cleanliness/odor problems (bed-bug and theft reports were raised); staff and management were sometimes rude, neglectful or unsafe. There are no activities or reliable transportation, so overall I can't confidently recommend it unless you accept crowded, inconsistent care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment about Kasey Paige Assisted Living Facility is highly mixed, with a pronounced split between reviewers who praise the staff, care, and certain operational strengths, and reviewers who report serious concerns about facility condition, cleanliness, safety, and management. Multiple reviewers uniformly highlight strong, caring, and knowledgeable staff—receptionists, med techs, caregivers, and a cited on-site nurse—who build positive relationships with residents. Staff are repeatedly described as accommodating, helpful, and resident-focused; the financial administrator is noted for precise accounting and resourcefulness, and a manager named Valerie is specifically mentioned as welcoming. Several accounts indicate that these staff behaviors make the environment feel homelike for residents and that specific interactions (including collaboration with outside advocates or lawyers) resulted in high-quality individualized care for some residents.

Conversely, numerous reviews raise substantial concerns about the physical environment and living conditions. Common complaints include aging, shabby facilities, dim or poor lighting, bland decor, and very small dorm-style rooms with double occupancy that limit privacy and personal space. Some rooms are described as having only a half-bath and shared showers, and corridors are reported as poorly lit. These physical shortcomings contribute to a perception among several reviewers that the facility is overcrowded and in need of renovation or a “facelift.” The overcrowding and small room size are repeatedly cited as reducing quality of life for some residents.

Cleanliness and pest control reports are inconsistent and a major area of contradiction: while some reviewers praise good housekeeping and explicitly say there are no bugs, multiple other reviews allege bed bugs, filthy conditions, smells of urine or stale body odor, and infrequent personal hygiene assistance (residents not bathed daily). These conflicting accounts create uncertainty about the facility’s reliability on basic infection-control and sanitation standards. There are also serious safety and conduct concerns in several reviews, including allegations of theft from a resident, staff failing to intervene in resident altercations, rude or abusive staff behavior, and claims of traumatic experiences. Such reports are significant red flags and stand in stark contrast with the positive accounts of caring employees.

Dining and recreation responses are likewise mixed. A number of reviewers rave about the food, praising generous portions and good meals; other reviewers claim meal portions were small. A tidy recreational area and a nearby park receive positive mention, but several reviewers criticise the facility for a lack of structured activities and no transportation services for residents, which can affect quality of life, especially for residents who rely on facility-organized outings or appointments.

Management and administrative impressions are split as well. Some reviews commend an incredibly resourceful, resident-focused administration and precise financial handling. Other accounts describe poor management, threats during transfer processes, difficulty dealing with administration, or outright warnings to avoid the facility. The existence of both supportive, effective administrative accounts and reports of problematic, even abusive management suggests inconsistent leadership or variability over time or across shifts.

Patterns and takeaways: the reviews present a polarized picture—many consistent praises for individual staff members, caregiving compassion, and certain operational strengths coexist with repeated, serious allegations about facility upkeep, pest problems, privacy, safety incidents, and inconsistent management. This combination suggests that experiences may vary widely by unit, staff on duty, or over time. For anyone considering Kasey Paige Assisted Living Facility, these reviews indicate it is essential to conduct a careful, in-person tour focused on the specific concerns raised (inspect rooms and bathrooms closely, ask about pest-control records, review staffing and supervision patterns, request recent state inspection reports, verify policies on bathing and activities, and check reference residents/families). Given the presence of allegations involving theft, abuse, and pest infestations alongside uniformly positive reports about some staff, prospective residents and families should seek up-to-date documentation (inspection reports, incident logs) and speak directly with current residents and their families to determine whether the aspects most important to them—safety, cleanliness, privacy, and consistent, respectful care—are reliably met at this facility.
