    Neglected care and dishonest billing

I appreciated the caring staff, clean facility, good food and lively activities (crafts, singers, Sunday ministry, bingo, Thanksgiving and Christmas events). But my care was neglected - laundry was abandoned, treatments missed, I often didn't get showers and felt held hostage until I requested a transfer. Financially it was a mess: premiums were withheld/nonpaid, I was left with unreimbursed funds and debt, and I had to involve police and the Department of Labor over alleged staff deception. I cannot recommend this place for anyone who expects reliable medical care or honest billing.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these review summaries is mixed but leans toward serious concern because while reviewers praise daily life elements (cleanliness, food, caring staff, and active programming), multiple reviews raise significant administrative, financial, and safety allegations that overshadow the positives. On the favorable side, reviewers consistently note a clean facility and positive dining experiences. Several summaries specifically mention staff who are caring and attentive, and a range of social and spiritual activities are offered — crafts, visiting singers, Sunday ministry, bingo — along with holiday events such as a Thanksgiving gathering and Christmas activities that include family cookies. These comments indicate the facility is capable of maintaining a welcoming environment and organizing engaging programming for residents.

However, the negative themes are acute and recurrent. A number of summaries allege systemic financial and administrative problems: premiums being withheld or not paid, unreimbursed funds, and resulting debt for residents or families. The presence of both a police report and involvement by the Department of Labor indicate some complaints escalated beyond routine family grievances to formal investigations or law-enforcement attention. These allegations suggest potential mishandling of funds or payroll issues that have caused material harm or distress to residents and families.

Equally serious are the reports of neglect and abandonment. Several summaries allege that staff abandoned residents or failed to deliver necessary care, including not providing treatments or regular showers. Language such as residents feeling "held hostage," requesting transfers, and being advised to avoid the facility points to situations in which people perceived their safety, autonomy, or basic care needs to be compromised. Allegations of staff deception or lying further erode trust and, combined with the financial complaints and formal reports, paint a picture of inconsistent or problematic management and oversight.

Taken together, the pattern shows a facility with strengths in daily living aspects — cleanliness, food, and programming — but with potentially serious operational failures that impact financial integrity and resident safety. The coexistence of positive frontline interactions (some caring staff and active activities) with allegations of abandonment and financial malpractice could indicate variability between individual caregivers and broader managerial, staffing, or policy failures. It may also reflect situations where some shifts or teams provide good care while others do not, or where administrative processes (billing, payroll, laundry services) are failing independently of direct caregiving quality.

In summary, these reviews recommend caution. Prospective residents and families should weigh the clear positives in daily life against multiple, serious red flags about financial handling and neglect. The recurring nature of financial complaints, formal involvement by authorities, and reports of abandoned or unmet care needs make these concerns significant and deserving of follow-up before making placement decisions. Verifying the facility’s licensing status, complaint history, staffing levels, and written policies on billing, laundry, and resident transfers would be prudent steps to address the types of issues these reviews describe.

    About ANew Healthcare

ANew Healthcare supports many types of care in places like assisted living, continuing care retirement communities, skilled nursing facilities, and even adult care homes, so you'll see services for folks who need help every day and for those who only need short-term rehab after being in the hospital before heading home. You'll find specialty care units that can handle heart, breathing, and cancer conditions, and they've got a setup for maternal and pediatric care too, with things like Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Nursing, so babies and new mothers get the help they need. ANew Healthcare uses things like Telehealth programs and electronic intensive care units, plus emergency room and urgent care options, so care is often available without needing to travel far. People who need help with ventilators, chemo infusions, wound care, and similar services can get those too, along with special rooms for surgery, dialysis, and interventional radiology right in the same building. There's memory care, psychiatric and behavioral health, rehabilitation, hospice, and palliative care for people with different needs, so seniors and others with serious illnesses or memory problems have a place to turn. Nurses and other staff can choose their own shifts and work across different areas, and the system offers flexible per diem jobs with real-time shift picking, so scheduling is meant to be less stressful for them. ANew Healthcare says they include male and female residents, work with different payment plans, and often have information on availability, which helps when people need quick decisions. Wellsville Health Care Center is one of the names associated with this provider, and families can find support options like home care, home health, hospice, referrals, and outpatient clinics as well, all under the same network.
