    Warm caring home with issues

I placed my grandfather at Beehive Homes of Deming and overall I'm very pleased - it's a warm, family-inclusive, home-like facility with clean rooms and laundry service, friendly attentive staff who go above and beyond, balanced meals, activities, nice common/outdoor spaces, and strong communication with families. He felt loved and well cared for. The negatives: it's expensive, not equipped for serious memory care, and I've noticed occasional hallway odors and some night-shift/staffing lapses. Despite that, I recommend it for respectful, caring assisted living.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for BeeHive Homes of Deming is strongly positive, with many reviewers emphasizing a caring, home-like atmosphere and consistently attentive staff. Multiple comments highlight that the facility is small and personable, which contributes to a warm environment where residents feel loved and well cared for. Cleanliness and updated facilities are frequently mentioned: reviewers note clean rooms, common spaces, and laundry service that keeps clothing tidy. The facility is repeatedly described as highly recommendable by families who appreciated the dignity of transitions and the way staff supported both residents and relatives.

Staff quality is the most commonly praised element. Reviewers use words such as caring, attentive, friendly, professional, and flexible to describe caregivers and management. Several accounts emphasize strong family communication, timely updates, and staff who go above and beyond — for example, offering meals to visitors, accommodating family gatherings (Easter dinner noted), and providing one-on-one attention. There are multiple reports that staff handled routine medical needs well and coordinated home nurse visits when appropriate. The overall impression is of a staff that is invested in residents’ comfort and family involvement.

Facility features and programming receive positive remarks as well. Residents have access to comfortable common areas with a large TV, couches, puzzles, and board games, which reviewers say contributes to a home-like social environment. Activities mentioned include games and one-on-one lectures; snacks and balanced meals (including fruit pies) are cited positively. The outdoor area is an asset in favorable weather — shaded for summer comfort — though some reviewers noted it is less usable in winter. Apartment layouts are described as adequate, especially one-bedroom units.

Despite the many positives, there are recurring concerns that prospective families should weigh. The facility is explicitly noted as not equipped to handle advanced memory care or extreme medical issues; reviewers advise that while routine care and some medical coordination are handled well, more complex clinical needs may exceed the home's capabilities. Several reviews raise staffing-related issues: some mention inexperienced personnel on certain shifts, and there are particular complaints about the graveyard shift — infrequent checks, caregivers reportedly sleeping on duty, and even instances of caregivers eating residents’ food. These are serious concerns that appear in multiple summaries and warrant direct questioning during tours or intake discussions.

Other negative patterns are less frequent but still notable. A few reviewers reported bad odors in hallways at times, and some comments state that the facility is expensive. The outdoor area’s usefulness in winter was questioned. Several reviewers recommended increasing staffing levels to ensure consistent coverage and reduce incidents tied to inexperience or overnight lapses.

In conclusion, BeeHive Homes of Deming appears to be an attractive option for families seeking a small, clean, and compassionate assisted living environment with strong family engagement, pleasant common areas, and generally good meals and activities. It is well-regarded for routine care and a supportive staff culture. However, it is not the best fit for residents who require advanced memory care or intensive medical support, and families should directly address concerns about night staffing, any odor issues, staffing experience, and food handling practices before committing. Asking about overnight staffing ratios, training procedures, and how the facility escalates medical or behavioral issues will help determine if BeeHive Homes of Deming is the right match for a specific resident’s needs.

    About BeeHive Homes of Deming

BeeHive Homes of Deming sits in a residential neighborhood, with a home-like setting that aims to feel comfortable and familiar, offering between 12 and 16 private rooms, each with its own bathroom and ADA shower, so everyone can have the space and privacy to feel at home while still staying safe, especially since staff are on hand 24 hours a day, and there's a pendant emergency call system for quick help if someone needs it, which can be a real comfort for families who worry about safety. The home has a relaxed and welcoming feel, with common areas like a large living room with plenty of seating, bookshelves, and TVs, a spacious dining room where folks gather for meals, and an inviting backyard with gravel and trees, surrounded by a stucco wall, which gives people a chance to get fresh air without wandering off-something that matters a lot for those with memory problems.

BeeHive Homes of Deming provides different types of care, so residents can get help with daily tasks like bathing, grooming, and taking medicine, or get more specialized support for memory care, Alzheimer's, or dementia, with trained staff who are both kind and professional, helping residents keep their independence when they can, but stepping in quickly if someone needs more help, which seems to bring peace of mind to both residents and their families. Caregivers at BeeHive work hard to make everyone feel respected, encouraging people to join in activities, socialize in the open dining and living areas, or just relax in their own space if that's what they prefer, and there's a steady focus on keeping things clean, healthy, and tidy, with daily housekeeping and laundry always done, which folks usually notice right away.

The home offers guided tours and encourages families to visit, to see first-hand how staff and residents interact, because they believe that showcasing the culture of attentive care is important, and also, people can join in on community events, like holiday dinners, that welcome families and bring everyone together, which seems to help make the place feel more like a real community and less like an institution. Residents can enjoy home-cooked meals approved by dietitians, with communal dining that lets people be together, and there are always activities going on-social gatherings, recreational and creative events, outings, and daily exercise for both body and mind-so everyone stays engaged and gets a chance to form friendships. Staff work to create personal care plans, always tailoring help to each person's specific needs and preferences, and the approach tries to treat everyone as family while keeping open, honest communication with relatives about care.

BeeHive Homes of Deming accepts checks and credit card payments, charges an entry fee of $2,000, and offers a smoke-free environment for better health. Utilities like cable TV, telephone, and public Wi-Fi come included, and bed linens and towels are supplied and laundered for residents. There's a consulting nurse available 24/7 for advice, though there's not an in-house nurse at all times, but the plan is always to keep residents here as long as it's safe and best for their health, with transitions to more advanced medical care made when necessary. People who only need a short stay can choose respite care and get furnished rooms, home-cooked meals, and access to activities just like full-time residents.

At the heart of everything, BeeHive Homes of Deming tries to make life comfortable, safe, and meaningful for seniors, mixing independence with help as needed, and aiming to create a space where folks can feel truly at home, surrounded by companions and caregivers who know and care about them as individuals. The focus on keeping things small, warm, and personal is their way of helping residents live with dignity, choice, and familiar routines, all while staying part of a close-knit and caring community that's been serving seniors for over 27 years.
