    Beautiful campus, poor care management

I found the six-acre campus charming - organic gardens, welcoming spaces, a day spa, bistro and community programs, and generally high-quality, family-involving care in the 45-bed assisted living and independent apartments. But phone responsiveness is poor, the facility often smells of urine and feces, and managers treated employees terribly and unprofessionally in front of families, which made it a horrible living situation despite the beautiful grounds.

    Summary review

The reviews present a mixed but sharply contrasted picture of the Center For Ageless Living. On the positive side, multiple summaries emphasize a small, campus-style setting with varied offerings: a 45-bed assisted living component alongside independent living apartments, personal care services, and amenities such as a day spa, bistro and bakery. The six-acre campus is repeatedly described as pleasing and relaxing, with organic gardens, welcoming spaces, and well-maintained grounds that support a restful atmosphere. Reviewers also note active community elements — a community park program and community building — and indicate that the community encourages family involvement and broader community engagement.

Facilities and lifestyle amenities are among the most consistently praised aspects. The presence of a spa, food service outlets like a bistro and bakery, and tangible outdoor features (gardens, park program) suggest that recreational and lifestyle needs are addressed. The small size (45 beds) is a potential advantage for residents seeking a more intimate setting. Several reviewers explicitly call out "high-quality care," which, combined with encouraging family involvement, paints a picture of a facility that can provide attentive, person-centered services for many residents.

However, the positive descriptions are counterbalanced by very serious negative allegations in at least one review summary. That review characterizes the living situation as "horrible," specifically citing pervasive odors of urine and feces — a sign of significant sanitation or housekeeping problems in parts of the facility. Such descriptions indicate the possibility of lapses in day-to-day care and cleanliness that could directly affect resident comfort, dignity, and health. These kinds of environmental concerns are critical and would be a major red flag for prospective residents and families.

Staff behavior and management practices also emerge as a major area of concern. One review accuses managers of treating employees terribly and doing so in front of family members, characterizing the behavior as extremely unprofessional. This allegation raises two related issues: first, potential morale and retention problems among staff that can impact the consistency and quality of resident care; and second, the possibility that abrasive or disrespectful management conduct is being witnessed by families, which undermines trust. In combination with the cleanliness complaints, these management observations suggest systemic issues in culture or oversight in at least part of the organization.

Communications issues are noted as well, with mention of poor phone responsiveness. While this is less severe than sanitation or alleged mistreatment of employees, it is an important operational detail because responsiveness affects admissions, family inquiries, scheduling, and timely handling of concerns. Taken together, these operational complaints — unresponsiveness and reports of unprofessional management — could magnify the impact of any clinical or housekeeping shortcomings by making them harder for families to resolve.

In summary, the Center For Ageless Living is portrayed as a small, amenity-rich community with attractive grounds, thoughtful programming, and features that support family involvement. Those positive elements coexist with serious negative reports centered on sanitation and managerial conduct. The reviews suggest a facility that can deliver high-quality care and an appealing environment for some residents, while at least one account indicates potentially significant failures in cleanliness and staff management. Prospective residents and families should weigh the appealing physical and programmatic features against these safety- and culture-related concerns, and consider follow-up steps such as an in-person visit, asking for recent inspection or housekeeping records, speaking with current residents and staff, and testing responsiveness to phone inquiries before making a decision.

They send out an email newsletter called Spa Thymes to share healthy living tips and local news, and the whole campus aims to make living easier and more social, letting older adults keep as much independence as possible while staying safe, cared for, and connected with others, and it all sits in lush landscaped grounds that try to give some peace and privacy, but still encourage joining in so people don't feel alone as they age.
