    Excellent, caring staff and facility

I placed my father here and we've had an excellent, reassuring experience - loving, respectful staff (special thanks to Dora), clean rooms, good meals and lots of activities, smooth transitions between independent and assisted living, and clear, caring communication that gave us peace of mind. A few minor issues: the website lists the wrong phone number, parking is limited, and the shuttle/van could be more accessible and offer more meal options in assisted living. Overall great value for us, staff went above and beyond, and I highly recommend this facility.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews for Avamere at Roswell is strongly positive, with recurring emphasis on the quality of staff and the level of individualized, compassionate care provided. Reviewers consistently describe staff as friendly, loving, respectful and willing to go above and beyond; several single out specific caregivers (for example, Dora) and praise staff for clear communication, frequent updates, and sharing photos that reassure families. Memory-care needs are noted as being well understood by the staff, with multiple accounts of residents feeling safe, loved and comfortable. For many families the experience provided peace of mind and trust that loved ones were in good hands.

Facility and amenities receive favorable comments as well. The campus is described as clean, well-maintained and relatively new, with comfortable studio apartments and pleasant outdoor spaces such as a courtyard that is dog-friendly. Reviewers appreciate that independent living and assisted living are on the same property, which many found convenient for transitions and family visits. Several reviews note there were no major maintenance issues and that the location and acceptance of VA benefits are advantageous. Overall impressions include that Avamere offers a warm, home-like environment rather than a clinical one.

Dining and activities are regular themes: most reviews report “good meals” and that breakfast and dinner are served. At the same time some residents and family members would like more variety or additional meal options. Activities are plentiful — daily programs, events and transportation to outings are mentioned — but a few reviews note limited participation by some residents, which may reflect individual preferences or mobility/health constraints rather than a lack of programming. The facility’s van/shuttle is an appreciated service, though several reviewers requested improvements to van accessibility or shuttle usability (e.g., better access for mobility devices or scheduling/operation changes).

Transitions and management responsiveness: many families report smooth transitions from independent to assisted living on the same property and praise staff for managing those moves professionally. However, there are a few notable exceptions — one reviewer described a “rocky transition” related to Brookdale (a different provider) and a few families expressed uncertainty about the loved one’s current well-being after transitioning to assisted living. These comments suggest that while Avamere generally manages changes well, communication or coordination during some transitions (especially involving other providers) can create confusion. On the positive side, multiple reviews highlight that staff and management address issues quickly and professionally when concerns arise.

Logistics and value: reviewers frequently cite good value, particularly when availability or pricing made it a better fit than nearby facilities. That said, perceived value varies — some families rated value highly while others scored it lower — which likely reflects differences in individual needs, expectations and which services were used. Practical concerns mentioned across reviews include limited parking and an incorrect phone number listed on the website in at least one instance; these are resolvable but notable for prospective residents and families to verify. Overall, the pattern is overwhelmingly favorable with many families highly recommending Avamere at Roswell and expressing gratitude for the care their relatives received.

Bottom line: Avamere at Roswell stands out for its compassionate and communicative staff, clean/new-feeling facilities, on-site continuum of care (independent to assisted), and a robust set of activities and dining services. Prospective residents should be aware of minor operational issues (parking, shuttle accessibility, meal variety) and may want to confirm details about assisted-living services, transition processes and current contact info before moving in. For families prioritizing attentive staff, safety, and a warm atmosphere, the reviews indicate Avamere is a strong choice, though individual experiences around value and transitions can vary.
