    Excellent therapy, everything else failed

I regret placing my mother here. Communication was terrible-phones unanswered, family update requests ignored, her calls for help went unanswered, and leadership flip-flopped on basic permissions. Nurses and the therapy teams (PT/OT) were excellent, but most other staff were rude, unresponsive, and negligent: multiple falls, unsafe discharge without proper notice, overmedication, filthy conditions, and missing belongings (phone/computer). She was even airlifted to the hospital; overall therapy gets 5 stars, but the rest failed us-look elsewhere.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the provided reviews is mixed but leans negative, with a clear split between very strong rehabilitation/therapy services and persistent, serious concerns about day-to-day nursing care, safety, communication, and facility management. The therapy and rehab team receives consistent praise — physical and occupational therapy are repeatedly described as excellent, rated five stars, and credited with successful outcomes such as effective post-hip-surgery rehabilitation. Several reviewers explicitly thanked therapy staff and described grateful experiences, indicating that the rehab program is a strong asset of the facility.

Conversely, multiple reviews describe systemic problems in the broader clinical and operational care. Reviewers report inconsistent clinical care quality, including allegations of elder abuse, overmedication, and neglect such as inadequate hydration, lack of bathroom assistance, and unattended residents. There are reports of multiple falls and at least one serious event requiring airlift to a hospital, as well as critiques that residents were discharged or returned home in an unsafe condition. These accounts point to lapses in safety oversight and care standards for some residents.

Communication and staff responsiveness are frequent pain points. Families report unanswered phones, unresponsive staff, ignored requests for updates, and discharges without proper notification. Several summaries emphasize that family wishes and permissions were overlooked or reversed by administration, leading to distress and mistrust. Reviewers also describe staff as rude, unprofessional, or uncaring in interactions with residents and families. At the same time, a number of nurses are singled out as doing a great job, underlining variability in staff performance.

Management and supervision are criticized for poor direction, flip-flopping on policies, and inadequate staff motivation. Reviewers reported a lack of standard of care, laziness among some staff, and insufficient leadership to correct problems. There are multiple accounts of poor facility conditions and resident appearance — dried food on clothes, missing clothing, unshaven residents, and reports of general filth — indicating issues with housekeeping and personal care oversight. In addition, allegations of theft by staff (missing phones, computers, and other belongings) create serious concerns about security and trustworthiness.

Dining and daily life receive negative comments as well, with at least one reviewer calling the food "shameful." Activities are not well-documented in the summaries provided, though the presence of a compassionate chaplain (Chaplain Ted) is noted as a positive source of emotional/spiritual support. The presence of a caring chaplain and the strong therapy team suggests the facility has some well-functioning programs amidst broader operational weaknesses.

In summary, the prominent pattern is a facility with a standout rehabilitation department and pockets of excellent nursing care, but also significant and recurring deficiencies in communication, basic nursing care, safety, cleanliness, property security, and management consistency. These mixed experiences suggest that outcomes may depend heavily on which staff and department a resident primarily interacts with. Families considering this facility should weigh the high-quality therapy services against the reported risks in day-to-day nursing care and governance, and should ask specific questions about staffing ratios, incident reporting, property security, discharge policies, and how the facility addresses fall prevention, medication management, and hygiene oversight.
