    Spacious spotless rooms, caring staff

I love my spacious, spotless room with daily housekeeping and laundry, plus tasty meals with good choices. The staff are friendly, caring, and treat me like family - meds, care, and case management are handled reliably. There's a busy schedule of activities, outings, concerts and a lovely park/deck for picnics and campfires, so I've made friends and feel safe and at home. There are occasional staffing/management hiccups, but overall I'm very satisfied and would highly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Tanglewood Manor are overwhelmingly positive. The dominant themes are warm, attentive staff; a strong family-like community; a broad and active calendar of social and recreational programming; well-kept, spacious rooms; and a picturesque campus with large outdoor amenities. Many reviewers explicitly state they would highly recommend the community, describe residents as happy and content, and report long-term satisfaction (several multi-year residents and enthusiastic testimonials). Cleanliness, housekeeping, and laundry services are repeatedly praised, and the facility is frequently described as odor-free and well maintained.

Care quality and staff: Care and staff are the single strongest point in the feedback. Reviewers consistently describe caregivers as caring, kind, attentive, and professional. Families report good communication, proactive follow-up, and thorough handoffs; one consistent praise is that staff provide detailed feedback on residents' health and daily needs. There is on-site nursing oversight and structured care levels (noted as five tiers of care), and reviewers mention medication management, weekly doctor visits, and staff coordination of appointments and prescriptions. End-of-life care is also mentioned positively. A small number of reviews note mixed staff performance or an inexperienced employee; a few raise concerns about staffing shortages and wage/management challenges — these are notable but appear less common than the positive comments.

Facilities, rooms and cleanliness: The physical campus receives strong positive marks. Rooms are frequently described as large, well-lit, and comfortable; private and shared room options are available, and some doubles can be converted to singles. Housekeeping is highlighted as excellent, with day-to-day room cleaning and reliable laundry service. The overall environment is characterized as resort-like and updated in many areas, with large dining spaces, big living rooms with wall-of-windows, and ample storage in rooms. The three-acre park, ponds, walking trails, gazebo/pavilion, rear-facing decks, and golf-cart rides are prominent features that reviewers appreciate for views, relaxation, and social events.

Dining and on-site services: Dining is another consistent strength. Many reviewers praise the taste, variety, and meal choices; several call out dietitian-friendly and diabetes-friendly options. Meals are served cafeteria-style in a large dining room, with snacks and nightly snack times mentioned. Services that reduce residents’ need to leave campus — on-site therapy (PT/OT), a fitness center, beauty/barber salon, and some pharmacy/medication ordering — are repeatedly noted and valued for convenience and continuity of care.

Activities and social life: Tanglewood's activity program is extensive and varied. Reviewers list daily and weekly activities including music programs (bands, accordion entertainment), bingo, cornhole, arts and crafts (painting, tie-dye), bowling, walks, fishing, rec room games (pool tables, shuffleboard), concerts, picnics, campfires with hotdogs and s’mores, holiday events, and regular outings (shopping, restaurants). Staff participation in activities and frequent social breakfasts help create a lively, inclusive social environment. Many residents and families emphasize that there is always something to do and that friendships form quickly, contributing to an overall sense of home.

Management, value and notable concerns: Most reviewers feel the community delivers strong value for cost — several specifically call it good value or cost-efficient. A few mention that some units or services are pricier, with at least one reviewer saying the higher price was worth it. A recurring caveat in the reviews is staffing and management-related: a minority of reviewers raise concerns about understaffing, underpaid employees, regulatory challenges, and potential management shortcomings. These accounts appear sporadic compared with the volume of positive feedback but are important to note — they have led in at least one case to concern about future continuity of care and potential relocation. A few isolated negatives include rare odor reports, an inexperienced tour guide experience, and one-off administrative/arrival issues; however, these are exceptions.

Conclusion and recommendation guidance: In summary, Tanglewood Manor is consistently described as a clean, well-run, social, and resident-focused community with strong caregiving, plentiful activities, robust on-site services, and attractive outdoor amenities. It appears especially well suited to seniors who value an active social life, frequent programming, and a close-knit staff-resident relationship. Prospective residents and families should consider touring (and, if possible, visiting during an activity or meal) to evaluate room configurations (private vs. dormitory-style) and to ask targeted questions about current staffing levels, staff turnover, and any unit-specific pricing differences. Overall, the reviews indicate a high degree of resident and family satisfaction with only a few, localized concerns to verify during a visit.
