    Nice apartments, meals, active community

I hosted a reunion and was impressed by the very nice, well-kept apartments (two-bed, two-bath duplexes available), clean units with nice kitchens and bathrooms, attached garages, laundry room and beautiful grounds. Meals were delicious with pleasant dining staff in a central dining room or delivered to units; the community is active and accessible with concerts and many activities and strong Office for the Aging support - it's popular, so there is a waiting list. I didn't encounter nursing services, so I can't comment on that.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Brookside Senior Living Comm is strongly positive, centered on the quality of the physical environment, dining, and social life. Multiple reviewers describe the apartments and grounds as very nice, well kept, and clean. Unit features cited include attractive bathrooms and kitchens, two-bedroom/two-bath duplex configurations, and practical amenities such as attached garages and on-site laundry facilities. The property’s grounds and communal areas are described as beautiful and accessible, which supports an image of a pleasant, active living environment.

Dining receives consistently favorable comments. Meals are described as delicious, and reviewers specifically note a pleasant and helpful dining staff. The community offers a central dining facility where residents can eat on site, and there is also a meal delivery option for those who prefer or need it. Reviewers’ positive remarks about food and dining staff suggest a reliable dining operation that contributes positively to daily life.

Social programming and activities are another strong theme. The community is described as lively and active, offering plenty of activities, including concerts and musical group performances. One reviewer noted that a reunion was hosted there, indicating that spaces and staff are amenable to events and family gatherings. The frequency and variety of social offerings appear to support resident engagement and an active lifestyle.

Staff and external supports: reviewers specifically cite pleasant dining staff, and there is a noted link to the Office for the Aging, which is described as excellent in assisting with housing and social services. This suggests that Brookside has effective partnerships or referral channels for non-medical social services and housing assistance. However, direct comments on nursing or clinical care are absent or minimal; one reviewer explicitly stated they did not encounter nurses. This absence of visible nursing staff may reflect the community’s level of medical services (possibly more independent or assisted living focused) rather than a shortcoming in day-to-day operations, but it is an important pattern to note.

Areas of concern and notable patterns: the primary explicit negatives are a waiting list for admission and limited visible presence of nursing or medical staff. The waiting list signals demand and could be a barrier for prospective residents seeking immediate placement. The lack of mention of nursing personnel—coupled with a reviewer noting they did not encounter nurses—creates uncertainty about on-site clinical care or 24/7 nursing availability. Prospective residents and families should verify the level of medical support and availability of healthcare services if those are priorities.

In summary, Brookside Senior Living Comm is consistently portrayed as a well-maintained, attractive, and socially active community with strong dining, pleasant staff (especially in dining), good unit amenities, and helpful external support from the Office for the Aging. The main practical considerations for prospective residents are the waiting list and clarifying the scope of on-site nursing or medical services. For those prioritizing apartment quality, social programming, and dining, Brookside appears to be a strong option; for those requiring regular clinical care, further inquiry is recommended to confirm available medical staffing and services.
