    Beautiful facility, compassionate staff, caveats

I moved my mom to Stone Creek and overall it's been positive - the building is beautiful and clean, centrally located in Alliance, rooms are nice, staff (Debbie and many caregivers) are compassionate, food and activities are excellent, and they met complex needs like memory care and dialysis. However I'm concerned about inconsistent staffing and communication, and troubling admissions/retention practices (cash-dependent evictions when care needs increase) plus signs of pressured/fake positive reviews. It's a warm, well-cared-for place for many, but I'd advise families to verify policies and watch for red flags.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews of Stone Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care are predominantly positive, with a strong and recurring emphasis on compassionate staff, clean facilities, robust activity programming and effective medical support — including the ability to provide peritoneal dialysis and continuity through end-of-life care. Many families describe an experience in which residents became more alert, social and better nourished, and note the facility’s apartment-style suites and pleasant common areas as contributing to a home-like environment. That said, there are several recurring concerns and a handful of serious allegations that create clear areas for prospective families to investigate further.

Care quality and clinical services: Multiple reviewers praise the clinical responsiveness at Stone Creek — quick medical reactions, strong nursing and therapy support, and physical therapy programs that improved resident independence. The facility is repeatedly mentioned as a solid option for memory care and assisted living combined, with specific clinical capabilities called out (for example, handling peritoneal dialysis). Families also appreciated continuity of care at end of life and the ability for residents to remain through Medicaid, which are important practical considerations. However, a minority of reviews report concerning care lapses in memory care (instances of yelling or poor care) and at least one account referenced sanitation problems; these contrast with the many reports of exemplary nursing and rapid response and suggest variability in day-to-day care quality or isolated incidents worth probing.

Staff, communication and leadership: The most frequent praise centers on staff warmth, accessibility and the sense that caregivers “go above and beyond.” Reviewers consistently single out particular staff members and the community liaison (Deb) for being helpful, responsive and smoothing move-ins. Several families highlight strong family communication, helpful reception, and leadership that appears resident-focused under new ownership. On the other hand, common operational complaints include short staffing and staff turnover, requests for more night staff coverage, and occasional poor or late communication to families (including at least one very upsetting report of being told too late about a decline). A serious set of reviews raises allegations of staff misconduct (e.g., inappropriate behavior in a resident room) and troubling admissions/retention practices (claims that residents are expelled when care needs increase or for payment reasons). Those allegations are serious and come from multiple reviewers; they contrast sharply with other reviews praising leadership and suggest either past problems, isolated misconduct, or divergent reviewer perspectives.

Facility, cleanliness and amenities: The physical facility is generally described as clean, nicely decorated, and well maintained. Positive details include large windows, two-person suites, beauty shop, dining area, outdoor patio and pleasant landscaping. Many residents and families appreciated the apartment-style living, the bird feeder/viewing, and the overall tidy appearance. Conversely, a few reviewers raised sanitation/cleanliness issues and bedding laundering frequency concerns — again suggesting there may be occasional inconsistencies in housekeeping standards rather than a uniform problem.

Dining, activities and social life: Stone Creek receives strong and repeated praise for food quality, varied menus and plentiful meal options. The activity program is another standout: bingo, game nights, movies, crafts, devotions, cookouts, presenter-led programs, puzzle areas and special holiday/birthday celebrations are frequently mentioned. Transportation and outings are available and wheelchair-accessible using the facility bus, which families appreciated for keeping residents engaged. These social and recreational strengths are often linked to improvements in residents’ mood, socialization and medication/eating adherence.

Operational concerns, credibility and family cautions: Several reviewers raise concerns that impact how trustworthy the aggregate review set appears. There are explicit claims about incentivized or coerced employee reviews and suspicions of fake positive reviews — which, if true, would reduce the reliability of some praise. Additionally, there are striking allegations about “cash-dependent retention” and evictions when care needs increase; these specific accusations, together with the reports of staff misconduct and variability in communication, are the most serious themes that prospective families should probe directly with management. Other practical weaknesses to confirm during a tour or meeting include guest entry/exit controls (some reviewers requested a keypad), night-staffing levels, laundering schedules, and the facility’s formal policies on admissions/retention, incident reporting, and grievance resolution.

Net impression and recommendations: The dominant impression is that Stone Creek offers a warm, activity-rich, clinically capable assisted living and memory care environment with many families reporting excellent relationships with staff, strong medical support, and high quality food and programming. However, the presence of multiple serious negative reports — about communication lapses at critical moments, alleged misconduct, and allegations regarding eviction practices and review manipulation — means due diligence is essential. Prospective residents and families should (1) ask for written policies on admissions and discharge/eviction and how financial hardship or increasing care needs are handled, (2) inquire about staffing ratios (including night shift), turnover rates and training for memory care staff, (3) request recent incident logs or examples of how complaints are handled, (4) confirm housekeeping and laundry schedules, and (5) speak with current families and tour the memory care neighborhood during different shifts. Doing so will help verify the generally positive themes while clarifying the more serious, isolated concerns noted in the reviews.
