    Clean facility, staffing concerns persist

I'm impressed by the brand-new, very clean facility - spacious, wheelchair-friendly rooms, beautiful dining and a warm, knowledgeable, friendly staff who made our move-in smooth and caring. That said, the community is clearly understaffed with high turnover and inexperienced dementia care at times; medication administration and after-hours nursing are inconsistent, and management is often hard to reach and slow to resolve billing/refund issues. Overall a positive experience so far thanks to caring frontline staff, but I'd advise families to confirm staffing, meds and management stability before committing.

    About Harmony at Anderson

Harmony at Anderson is a senior living community that serves adults 55 and older and offers different levels of care including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing, and there's also respite care for short stays, and folks there get to choose from semi-private, studio, one-bedroom, or even two-bedroom apartments, with pets being welcome and staff trained to help people with Alzheimer's disease and other kinds of dementia. There's a dedicated memory care neighborhood called Harmony at Anderson that features four themed houses joined together by a central core, with a beauty and barber shop, a community center, and a studio inside, and there's a quarter-mile landscaped garden path connecting twelve doors, letting residents with memory loss walk safely and enjoy fresh air, plus themed alcove areas play ocean waves or birds, which gives some added stimulation for folks with brain illnesses so they're not just stuck in their rooms all day. Residents have around-the-clock help as needed, staff know how to assist people with memory problems, and care teams get extra training for dementia-there's always some safety and health measures in place with nurses on staff part-time and personal aides to help with things like grooming, dressing, or getting around, and they use medication reminders and help manage daily medicines, and there's even pharmacy services right on site, so you don't have to go running all over for prescriptions. The community is pretty big on organized activities-there's exercise programs, story time, game nights, arts and crafts, musical groups, spiritual services, movie theater, a bistro, and field trips out and about, with a schedule that changes and plenty of things to keep folks occupied if they want. They also have therapies like occupational and physical therapy, with visits from healthcare professionals or rehab partners like Powerback Rehab, and skilled nursing for things like wound care and medical support. Meals are served in a community dining area and guests can come for meals, or residents can have meals in their rooms, with special options for diets that are low fat, low or no sodium, or vegetarian, and there's linen and personal laundry services, housekeeping, drycleaning, and transportation out for shopping or appointments. Apartments have kitchenettes, are wired for cable, and have in-unit wifi, and there's community spaces with TVs, a computer area, a library, and a game room, so there's a feeling of home and space, not just a sterile hallway. There's an entry fee of $2,500, a 10% discount for a second resident in the same room, and payment can be made by check or credit card, with an all-inclusive rent option to cover the services. Male caregivers are on staff too, staff driving records get checked, and both companion and hospice care are offered along with in-home health services if someone needs that. Parking for guests and resident parking is available, with extra personal help for showering and toileting, plus features for people in wheelchairs, and offsite outings are planned too. The whole place feels more like living in a community built for seniors-not too fancy, not cold, with patios, walking paths, a garden, plenty of events, and spiritual support if you want it, and some pets around so the place feels lived in, and with people who know how to help those living with brain diseases and memory impairments.
