    Compassionate professional care for dad

I'm so grateful for the fantastic director and Maria - a caring, Spanish-speaking aide who goes above and beyond. The staff treat residents like family, provide attentive, personalized care (excellent food, private rehab rooms, warm bathing area), and keep the facility spotless and safe. My dad has thrived with daily activities, outings (they provide transportation), and clear communication from the team - he's happy and healthy. I highly recommend this compassionate, professional facility and Maria.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing exceptional cleanliness, compassionate staff, and high-quality, personalized care. The facility is frequently described as spotless and well maintained; reviewers repeatedly note private, spacious rehab rooms and a well-appointed environment. Specific features such as a warm bathing area with a heater, a veterans garden, and birds for resident enjoyment are highlighted as enhancing quality of life and creating a comforting, home-like atmosphere.

Care quality is a dominant positive theme. Reviewers describe attentive and loving caregiving that goes beyond routine duties — helping residents look their best, preparing them for trips, enabling outings (including important family events), and providing hugs and emotional support. Several family members report tangible health improvements in their loved ones (for example, previously underweight parents thriving after admission). The facility is also commended for successful orthopedic and post-operative rehabilitation. One recurring name, Maria, is singled out by multiple reviewers as an exceptional caregiver who communicates well, speaks Spanish, keeps families informed, and significantly uplifts resident spirits.

Staffing and management earn strong praise: reviewers note dedication across both care teams and administrative staff, high staff morale, and proactive communication with families about changes in condition. The director and leadership are described as caring and effective, and reviewers appreciate the facility's responsiveness and coordination (including transportation pickup/drop-off). The program offerings — exercise classes, music, outings, and a phenomenal activity program — are cited frequently as contributing to residents' happiness and social engagement. Dining gets positive marks as well, with multiple mentions that residents "love the food."

Facilities and amenities reinforce the positive impressions. In addition to clean private rehab rooms and an excellent bathing area, the veterans garden and bird features are noted as meaningful quality-of-life touches that provide residents a sense of freedom and enjoyment. Reviewers also praised the facility's ability to transition residents to hospice when appropriate, describing that process as compassionate and handled with dignity.

Notwithstanding the overwhelmingly favorable feedback, there is at least one clear negative account describing poor care and neglect (specifically a failure to clean a resident's eyes and ears) that left that reviewer discouraged from trusting the facility. This isolated critique introduces a note of caution about potential inconsistencies in care quality. While most accounts emphasize staff going "above and beyond," the existence of a negative experience suggests families should perform routine due diligence: visit in person, ask about staffing ratios and care protocols for hygiene and personal care, request recent inspection reports or references, and maintain open communication with the care team.

In summary, the reviews collectively paint Heritage Manor Rehabilitation & Retirement Community as a clean, well-run facility with warm, dedicated staff and a strong activity and rehabilitation program. The facility appears especially well-suited for families seeking compassionate, personalized care, effective post-operative rehab, and meaningful daily engagement for residents. The consistent praise for individual staff members (notably Maria), a supportive management team, and tangible resident improvements are strong positives. However, potential residents and families should be mindful of at least one reported lapse in personal-care standards and should verify current care practices and oversight during their selection process.

The community focuses on compassionate, faith-based care, with Jewish services and counseling offered, but is open to all backgrounds. Heritage Manor uses advanced rehab technology and Telehealth to deliver therapies like physical, occupational, and speech therapy-sometimes including specialty treatments like electrical stimulation for strength-building. Programs and therapy plans are reviewed with each new resident or day guest to make sure services fit specific needs, and the staff keeps in touch with families about progress.

Heritage Manor has a 4.5 out of 5 community sentiment score and a team known for kindness and attention. The environment is calm and comfortable, with newer renovations and spaces that make it easier to move around. The goal's to help each person stay as active, safe, and independent as possible, whether staying short or long term, living in the community, or dropping in for the adult day program.
