    Warm attentive team; occasional problems

I found the facility warm and homey with caring, dedicated staff who often went above and beyond - great food, activities, rehab services, and generally clean, well-maintained grounds. We did encounter some help delays, staff training/cleanliness lapses, and a management response that felt dismissive, which led us to move my grandmother, but overall the attentive, family-oriented team makes this a place I'd still recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive but not unanimous. A clear majority of summaries describe Eastwood Manor as a caring, well-run facility where staff consistently go above and beyond to make residents comfortable. Many reviewers single out staff dedication, naming individuals (e.g., Pam) and praising both direct care staff and administration/housekeeping. The facility is repeatedly described as clean, well maintained and “homey,” with an emphasis on quality of life. Multiple comments highlight good food, engaging activities, and a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere. Reviewers also note that the facility provides both long-term and short-term/rehab services, including effective physical therapy, and that the staff often treat families respectfully and compassionately.

Staff-related praise is the dominant theme: reviewers frequently use terms like “amazing,” “exceptional,” and “goes above and beyond.” Several summaries emphasize that the staff made residents—often grandmothers—comfortable during difficult transitions, and that the overall environment feels positive for both residents and employees. Administration and housekeeping receive specific positive mentions, reinforcing perceptions of cleanliness and operational competence. The presence of faith-based (Christian) staff and the facility’s emphasis on resident-focused care were also noted by some families, suggesting a cultural fit for certain seniors.

However, reviewers also reported significant concerns in at least one instance that merit attention. One summary describes a situation where a resident was reportedly unattended and not receiving needed help; that same reviewer cited staff not being fully trained, unprofessional behavior, and alleged cleanliness problems. That reviewer also reported that management and the Director of Nursing explained the situation away rather than resolving it, prompting the family to move their grandmother to another facility. These criticisms introduce an important pattern: while many reviewers praise the staff and facility, there is at least one serious allegation of neglect and management dismissiveness. This creates a mixed picture regarding consistency of care and oversight.

Taken together, the reviews suggest Eastwood Manor generally delivers high-quality, compassionate care with a strong emphasis on resident comfort, activities, and rehabilitation services. The positive comments about staff dedication, family orientation, and facility upkeep are frequent and specific. At the same time, the presence of at least one detailed negative account indicates potential inconsistencies—specifically around staff training, professional conduct, cleanliness in one report, and management responsiveness. Prospective families should weigh the strong majority of favorable reports against the seriousness of the negative allegation and consider asking the facility about staffing levels, training programs, incident reporting and resolution procedures, and recent inspection or quality metrics to confirm current standards and consistency.
