    Perfect fit, small, welcoming facility

I toured this small facility and, despite the size, it turned out to be a perfect fit for my mom. Her room is great-separate living area, functional kitchen and in-room washer/dryer-clean clothes and adequate space. Staff are warm, attentive and very accommodating, personalizing care and coordinating large-print/audio books and alternate meals. Activities are engaging (bingo, sittercise, light exercise), the area feels safe, and my dad is clearly well loved here. I would recommend.

    About Arbor Senior Apartments

The Arbors Senior Living sits at 10201 S Yale Ave in Tulsa, Oklahoma, offering a mid-sized, comfortable space for up to 25 residents, and has a focus on support and daily care using current guidelines that help with things like bathing, dressing, transferring, medication management, and care for people who need help with daily living or who have memory needs like Alzheimer's or dementia, and you'll find staff on duty around the clock if emergencies pop up or if anybody needs a hand in the middle of the night, plus they've got all kinds of help with moving from a bed to a wheelchair or taking care of medication or special diets, including watching insulin for those with diabetes, and you'll see people enjoying three freshly prepared meals each day, including tweaks for dietary restrictions, allergies, diabetes, plus snacks between meals, and of course family or guests can join for a meal sometimes, because when you want to share a meal with friends or family, that's important, and the kitchen staff know how to plan for it. Residents can pick from cozy studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or semi-private rooms, all of which can be made homier with personal belongings, mementos, or even with a cat or dog if they're under the pet policy with certain weight and breed restrictions, and there's room service available too, so when residents want to stay in their own space for lunch or dinner, that's just fine.

There are housekeeping and laundry services, and for those times when a resident needs some extra help or a short stay, both respite and hospice options are there, so families can plan without worrying. The building includes AC, cable outlets, emergency alert systems, and all spaces are wheelchair accessible. You'll notice common spaces for visiting or relaxing, a quiet book room for people who like to read, dedicated game rooms, recreation spaces for art or music, an exercise room to keep moving, hairdresser and parlor services with mobile stylists who'll visit right in community, and a calendar packed with activities like arts, radio therapy, literature reading, exercise sessions, community evening events, movie nights, and social or entertainment programs, all of those things aiming to help people stay active and connect with others, which matters a lot when you're older. Outside, you can walk along garden paths, sit on patios, or join a group in the outdoor areas, and there are play areas and spaces set aside when grandkids visit, plus spas and saunas for relaxing. They also support mental wellness with programs focused on cognitive health and general happiness, and monthly wellness checks keep track of how everyone's doing.

Residents get free transportation for things like doctor visits, trips to church, going to the movies, or shopping, and there's resident and guest parking on site. Scheduled activities run throughout the week, and there are regular community events that help build friendships and offer something to enjoy each day. The Arbors is a recognized award-winner, known for its meals, activities, and friendly staff, and people often notice the sense of ease in the place, whether folks choose independent living, assisted living, or the specific memory or dementia care. The pricing structure includes a community fee, buy-in fee, respite rates, and different options for care needs, making it clear what's covered whether residents use private funds or veterans' benefits. The Arbors uses the LAUGH philosophy-Living And Understanding Greater Health-to guide how it plans care, meals, and activities, all toward keeping residents feeling their best. Every person gets help settling in, and there's always move-in coordination for a smoother start. With a balance between privacy and community, The Arbors offers support for older adults who want a safe, engaging, and caring environment where they're free to enjoy each day as it comes.
