    Pleased overall but noisy management

I placed my mom here and overall I'm pleased: friendly, attentive staff, excellent communication, prompt fall/doctor response, spacious private apartment with separate entrances, good dining, and a convenient location. My main complaints are persistent overhead noise/vibration (kitchen/living room), noisy residents and inconsistent follow-through on reported issues that disrupt sleep and make the value questionable. On balance my mom is happy and I'd recommend cautiously, but be aware of the noise and management lapses.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is mixed but leans positive regarding staff quality, communication, and basic living accommodations. Multiple reviewers praise the staff as friendly, informative, and attentive; several specific examples highlight strong staff–resident relationships, calm caregiving, and immediate, appropriate responses to medical events (notably prompt fall response and immediate doctor notification). These operational strengths translate into residents and family members feeling comfortable and satisfied with day-to-day care, with several reviewers explicitly stating they would recommend the facility or have no complaints.

Facility features and living spaces receive consistent positive mentions. Apartments are described as spacious, with the benefit of both separate exterior and interior entrances and private rooms for some residents. The dining experience is frequently noted as good — reviewers say the dining-room meals are satisfactory and that staff both cook and clean up, which contributes to an overall perception of convenience and solid basic services. Location is described as convenient, and several reviewers emphasize a calming atmosphere that supports residents' comfort.

However, there is a clear and recurring set of concerns clustered around noise and responsiveness. Multiple reviewers report significant noise disturbances — including overhead noise, vibrations felt in the kitchen and living room, and disruptive neighboring residents — leading to sleep disruption for some. These noise issues appear to be serious enough that several families or residents were dissatisfied, with at least one comment explicitly concluding the experience was "not worth the money." Compounding the noise problem are reports that staff sometimes forget or do not adequately resolve complaints about it; several comments mention slow staff responses or that reported issues went unresolved. This pattern suggests variability in responsiveness depending on the issue or the time it occurs.

There is also a smaller but important thread of concern around infection control or resident mix: one reviewer mentioned that residents were "mixed with sick residents," which, together with comments about misleading information and recommendations to "stay away," indicates some people felt expectations set by the facility about level or type of care were not met. These negative comments are strong in tone and suggest that for some families the experience fell short of promises or marketing. The coexistence of outstanding communication for emergencies with reported forgetfulness about routine complaints indicates an inconsistency in operational follow-through — staff may be excellent in urgent medical situations yet less consistent with quality-of-life or environmental complaints.

In summary, Fritzingertown Senior Living Center receives praise for the quality and attentiveness of its caregiving staff, good communication in medical or urgent situations, comfortable and spacious living units, and satisfactory dining and housekeeping services. At the same time, recurring noise and vibration problems, occasional slow or forgotten responses to non-urgent complaints, and a few strong negative impressions about resident mix and value for money are significant concerns. Prospective residents and families should weigh the importance of the facility’s strong medical responsiveness and supportive staff against the documented noise/environmental issues and the possibility of inconsistent handling of non-emergency complaints. Recommended due diligence: visit apartments at varied times of day to assess noise, ask management how noise and roommate conflicts are handled and documented, request examples of response protocols for both emergencies and routine complaints, and speak with current residents or families about their experiences over time.

    About Fritzingertown Senior Living Center

Fritzingertown Senior Living Center is a place where residents can decorate with their own cherished possessions, and the staff works to create a friendly, family-like atmosphere that feels familiar and comfortable, which means folks can really feel at home. The community offers a range of care options, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, adult day care, home care, respite stays, and hospice care, and each option comes with its own level of support and supervision, so people can move between them as their needs change without having to leave the community. There are studio, one-bedroom, and semi-private rooms, and residents can choose furnished or unfurnished options, all set up with emergency call systems, private bathrooms, cable or satellite TV, and wheelchair-accessible showers or tubs, plus there's accessible parking and outdoor smoking areas for those who need them, and the center can even manage major behavior needs in its specialized dementia care unit.

The grounds have landscaped paths, scenic outdoor spaces, and several courtyards for relaxing or walking, while indoors there are spacious lounges, foyers, and dining rooms where residents gather for three chef-prepared meals each day, with an evening snack, and special menus for kosher or vegetarian diets, as well as diabetes management and meal assistance for those who need it. Staff-who include nurses, a doctor on call, and visiting therapists like a podiatrist, speech therapist, and physical therapist-offer help with medication, personal care, and activities of daily living, and are available 24 hours a day. Memory care has a secure area with a computerized alert system and uses technology like alarm bracelets for residents who might wander, plus there's cueing for daily routines and structured programs aimed at mental stimulation.

Residents have a full calendar of activities, social events, outings, exercise and fitness classes, and both onsite and offsite religious or devotional services, with transportation and parking available, and the van takes groups on trips to local attractions. The community has a beauty salon, barber, and laundry and housekeeping services, and physical and occupational therapy rooms equipped with tables, exercise gear, and medical supplies. The center welcomes visitors and provides diagnostic and laboratory services on site, making health care and wellness checks easy to manage, and offers annual assessments to adjust care plans as needed.

Personal care is set up in three levels, supporting independence as much as possible while offering assistance when it's time, and if needed, there's standby, one-person, or two-person transfers with lifts to help folks move safely, plus supervision for people with higher care needs like diabetes. Security is tight in the Alzheimer's and dementia section, but the approach in all areas is friendly and relaxed, with a focus on social connection and meaningful activity rather than just supervision. There are shared residential care homes for people who want a smaller, neighborhood feel with help for things like bathing and dressing, and the staff tries to keep their approach helpful and kind, supporting residents' dignity and comfort.

Special features include scheduled transportation, companion care for homebound seniors, choice of dining, on-site beauty services, and biweekly religious services, so people can keep up their routines and interests no matter what else is going on. Fritzingertown Senior Living Center serves the Luzerne, Carbon, and Schuylkill county areas and has earned awards for care quality and resident satisfaction, which comes from their mix of safety, flexibility, and a strong sense of community, making it a stable option for folks at different stages of aging, with a wide mix of services all in one location.
