    Clean facility but understaffed, unsafe

I have mixed feelings. Many staff are genuinely caring, long-tenured, and the facility can be clean, odor-free, nicely updated with decent meals - but chronic short-staffing and poor management lead to slow or no nurse response, missed medical needs (bedsores, falls, high sugars), spotty cleanliness and professionalism, bad communication about residents (even deaths), and restrictive visiting. It may suit families who rarely visit, but because of safety, staffing and billing/administration concerns I personally would hesitate to recommend it.

    About The Grove at Greenville

Grove at Greenville is a large, for-profit senior care facility that forms part of a continuing care retirement community. With a capacity of 154 beds, it provides both short-term rehabilitation and long-term nursing care to residents, participating in both Medicare and Medicaid programs. The facility is corporate-owned and offers a blend of medical and non-medical support services tailored to each individual's needs, aiming to support both recovery from acute conditions as well as the ongoing care needs of those with chronic illnesses or age-related limitations.

For residents entering Grove at Greenville for short-term rehabilitation, the facility offers structured post-acute care following events such as strokes, heart attacks, infections, or accidental injuries. The goal is to support residents in regaining their independence and, where possible, returning home. The facility records that a notable proportion of short-term residents are ultimately able to return home, underscoring the effectiveness of its rehabilitation services. During these stays, each resident receives an average of three hours and thirty-four minutes of nursing care per day, reflecting the level of medical attention and support available. Measures are in place to reduce incidents that could hamper recovery, such as infections leading to hospitalization and the need for emergency room visits. Grove at Greenville strives to maintain a safe environment that emphasizes both comfort and effective medical intervention.

Long-term care at Grove at Greenville is structured to provide support for daily living activities as well as ongoing medical needs. Residents benefit from consistent nurse staffing, including strong staffing levels on weekends to ensure continuous care. The majority of long-term residents maintain the ability to perform essential daily functions, such as moving around, eating, and personal care routines, without constant assistance. Preventative health measures are a priority, with the vast majority of residents receiving annual influenza vaccinations to safeguard their wellbeing.

Safety and quality at Grove at Greenville are further underscored by applicable staffing policies and medical protocols. The facility emphasizes appropriate management and storage of medications and controlled substances. Regular health, fire, and safety inspections are conducted to ensure adherence to best practices for food preparation and resident safety. Moreover, the facility has not experienced any fines or denied payments over recent years, suggesting a stable and well-maintained operational environment.

Residents and families considering Grove at Greenville can expect a combination of medically attentive care, supportive services, and a community-oriented approach that seeks to promote both health and comfort in a well-regulated environment. The center is committed to providing a reliable home for individuals requiring comprehensive, round-the-clock support, as well as for those who are working towards regaining their independence after a significant medical event.
