    Excellent clinical care, inconsistent support

I had hip rehab here and overall I'm grateful - doctors, RNs and therapists were exceptional, compassionate, and helped me recover. The facility is clean, secure, and active (great activities, beauty shop, library) and staff like Brianna and the desk person went above and beyond. My main issues were inconsistent ancillary staff and communication: an unprofessional aide and a rude agency LPN, an unfriendly front desk, missed checks when I was sick, and poor coordination with the social worker. Meals and meal paperwork were inconsistent with small portions, and rooms need updated furniture, patched/repainted walls and a visitor chair - but clinical care and rehab were top-notch.

    About St. Andrew's Village

St. Andrew's Village, founded in 1985 as a nonprofit, sits as a life plan community for people aged 55 and older, and you'll find it offers many kinds of care, such as Independent Living, Personal Care, Memory Care in its Memory Support neighborhood for people with Alzheimer's and dementia, Skilled Nursing, Transitional Care, and even End of Life and Comfort Care, and all these programs use clear names and are set up to work with what each resident needs as things change. The village itself uses a cluster of residential options, with senior apartments like Bristol Court available in one- and two-bedroom layouts ranging from 572 to 1,204 square feet, some with ground floor patios and all meant to be safe, easy to get around in, and maintenance-free, though actual availability changes and online tours are possible. For those who want an affordable choice, the Grace Manor units opened in 2008 for independent older adults who'd like to keep costs lower while still having support.

Residents can move between levels of care without leaving the community, thanks to the Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) model, and many stay active with a full activities calendar including workshops, outings, music, dance, barbecues, picnics, and camps, so there's always something happening, and the group's earned recognition for its meals, activities, and cheerful staff, with volunteers logging thousands of hours every year. St. Andrew's Village holds accreditations from the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF/CCAC), showing a focus on quality and compliance with the Department of Health and Department of Public Welfare.

Amenities respond to resident comfort and convenience, like pet-friendly rules, handicap access, high-speed Wi-Fi, a Chapel with Chaplain Services, a Wellness and Fitness Center, library, recreation room, and Beauty and Barber Salon, while dining and cultural programs keep community life interesting. Residents can get quick help through services like medication management, diabetic care, therapy, psychiatric assessment, monitoring for complex needs, and incontinence care, along with counseling for depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. There's assistance for daily tasks if needed, such as dressing and bathing, plus short-term rehab, long-term nursing, and home care within a 10-20 mile radius, making sure people can get help no matter their situation. The Memory Support section pays careful attention to safety, aiming to cut down confusion and wandering for those with dementia.

The board of directors and executive director manage the campus and keep the focus on serving residents, with ongoing events like the Fundraiser's Forum and Spring Ecumenical Conference, and a relationship with the Presbyterian Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. Seniors can expect resources and referrals about aging, disaster recovery, and dementia, plus spiritual support programs with Bible study and worship for those who want them. Entrance fees start around $56,100 but may change, and options for seniors include independent apartments, personal care, nursing home, and home support, making St. Andrew's Village a steady choice for anyone who wants safe housing, flexibility, and a well-set-up support system as they age.
