    Exceptional compassionate care and support

I moved my mother here and couldn't have asked for better care - exceptional, compassionate staff and caring nurses provided effective therapy and wound care, kept her busy with activities, changed her clothes twice daily, and supported us through her passing. The facility is family-focused, thoughtful, and far better than her previous home; management and aides went above and beyond. Rooms could be cleaner and more staffed, but overall I highly recommend this place.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on the quality of care and the compassion of staff at Clarview Nursing & Rehab Center. Multiple reviewers singled out nurses and aides as caring, attentive, and willing to go above and beyond; management also receives praise for being courteous and supportive. Several accounts describe particularly strong support during difficult and end-of-life situations, indicating staff provide both clinical and emotional support to residents and families.

Clinical care and therapy are highlighted as strengths. Reviewers mention effective therapy programs and good rehabilitation outcomes, and specialized services such as wound care are explicitly noted. The facility is described as family-focused, offering a host of activities and programming that keep residents engaged and busy, which contributes to positive experiences for residents and their families. Practical aspects of personal care also receive favorable mention — for example, clothes reportedly being cleaned twice daily and residents being kept comfortable.

Facility-related impressions are generally positive, with comments like "great facility" and multiple recommendations naming Clarview a top choice or an improvement over previous nursing homes. Reviewers repeatedly recommend the center, which suggests consistent satisfaction across different families. Staff interactions are described as thoughtful and supportive during visits, further reinforcing a caring culture.

However, there are some recurring concerns to note. A few reviewers point out that rooms are "not the cleanest," indicating inconsistency in housekeeping or room maintenance. Another concern is the perceived need for more help or additional staff; while care is praised, one summary specifically says the facility "needs more help," which could reflect staffing shortages or slower response times in some areas. These concerns are relatively limited compared to the many positive comments but are meaningful because they relate to the day-to-day resident environment and staffing capacity.

In summary, Clarview Nursing & Rehab Center appears to deliver high-quality, compassionate clinical care with strong nursing and therapy programs, meaningful family-focused activities, and notable strengths in end-of-life support and wound care. The staff and management receive consistent praise for their attentiveness and empathy. Potential residents and families should be aware of occasional issues with room cleanliness and the indication that additional staffing could improve operations. On balance, the reviews portray Clarview as a highly recommended facility where residents are well cared for and families feel supported, with a few operational areas that could benefit from attention.

About Clarview Nursing & Rehab Center

Clarview Nursing & Rehab Center, located at 14663 Route 68 in Sligo, Pennsylvania, opened in 1979 and operated as a non-profit organization, providing care for seniors in need of skilled nursing, post-acute care, chronic disease management, recovery from illness or injury, and surgical recovery, with 120 beds in the building and 61 beds licensed for use as of March 2025, though the facility has been permanently closed to patient care now. The staff included certified nursing assistants, administrative assistants, and resident assistants, and there were about 25 employees working to support the community. The facility accepted both Medicare and Medicaid insurance, had private rooms with bathrooms, cable TV, kitchenettes, phone, air conditioning, and high-speed internet, and provided a 24-hour call system for safety, as well as supervision around the clock, medication management, and help with bathing, dressing, transfers, and non-ambulatory needs. Residents could join in daily activities, movie and music programs, arts, fitness in the gym, or enjoy books in the library, the garden and walking paths, the community lounge, a game room, a movie theater, a wellness and spa room, and restaurant-style or all-day dining-with a professional chef preparing allergy-sensitive, diabetes-friendly, or custom diets. They offered housekeeping, laundry, dry cleaning, move-in help, transportation, and parking. There were special memory care services for those struggling with wandering or confusion. Over the years, Clarview kept records in line with medical standards, with patient records sent to Morgan Records Management, LLC, and planned to destroy records no sooner than seven years after the last service date, keeping most for at least ten years. Official details, licensing reviews, citations, violations, owner information, Medicare and Medicaid data, as well as reports about disease prevention, lawsuits, and staff were available through advanced reporting. The facility was once recognized among Senior Care's Best Places to Work, remained focused on advanced medical care tailored to local needs, and kept up a records management program for safety and easy access, though now no longer takes new residents or delivers patient care.
