    Caring, clean small home; responsive

I placed my mom in this small, Christian-oriented group home and overall I'm very pleased - Elizabeth and most caregivers are kind, attentive, thorough, and management is responsive, which gives me real peace of mind. The house is clean, family-like, reasonably priced, and close to family with a nice backyard, but it's a converted 3-4 bedroom home (narrow halls, small rooms, not wheelchair accessible). Meals are healthy and diabetes-friendly though a bit repetitive and lightly seasoned; activities are limited but there is some exercise/PT. I recommend it for seniors with special needs who fit a small-home setting; it's not ideal for everyone.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews of Tender Care Home for Adults 1 are overwhelmingly positive about the quality of personal care, the demeanor and responsiveness of staff, and the home's clean, homelike environment. Multiple reviewers emphasize that caregivers are attentive, kind, and patient; some call the staff thorough and very caring. Families repeatedly note peace of mind from the care provided, and several recommend the home to other families. The presence of a dependable regular caregiver (Elizabeth is named specifically) and owners/management who are responsive and willing to coordinate with families are recurring strengths.

Care quality and staff: The strongest and most consistent theme is the quality of caregiving. Caregivers are described as knowledgeable, attentive, and capable of providing specialized care for residents with higher needs. Reviewers report that staff have gone above and beyond in situations such as hospital visits and that diabetes and other special dietary needs are accommodated. The caregiver-to-resident ratio is noted as favorable, contributing to individualized attention and the family-like atmosphere many reviewers appreciated.

Facilities and accessibility: The home is a converted, upgraded house with common living areas, a backyard, and a nice sitting area, which many reviewers find appealing for a small, domestic setting. Cleanliness and fresh-smelling rooms are commonly mentioned. However, the house layout also creates limitations: narrow hallways, small bedrooms, and a converted-house configuration mean the facility is not wheelchair accessible and may not be suitable for residents with significant mobility or space needs. Some families explicitly say the setting is not appropriate unless the resident has specific, higher-level needs that match the home's specialty.

Dining and activities: Dining receives mixed feedback. Several reviewers like the taste of meals and note that special diets (including diabetic diets) are handled appropriately, but a recurring complaint is that meals can be repetitive and rely on chicken bouillon; reviewers ask for more seasoning and variety. Activities are described as limited; some exercise and physical therapy are offered, but social programming appears minimal or inconsistent, with at least one reviewer stating they were unable to rate activities. This suggests the home focuses more on personal care than on extensive recreational programming.

Management, cost, and other operational notes: Reviewers consistently mention transparent billing (no hidden costs) and reasonable pricing. Management responsiveness and the willingness of staff to work with families are highlighted as important positives. A small number of operational issues are noted: yard maintenance (needs mowing) and temperature control problems (home can be too hot despite two AC units). There was an isolated report of an underperforming caregiver who was subsequently let go, indicating the facility addresses staffing concerns when they arise.

Who this is best for and notable patterns: The overall pattern suggests Tender Care Home for Adults 1 is a good fit for families seeking a small, home-like environment with attentive, experienced caregivers and personalized, specialized support—especially for residents with higher needs who benefit from one-on-one attention. It is less well-suited for residents who require wheelchair accessibility, larger private rooms, extensive activities programming, or a more institutional setting. The home’s Christian orientation is mentioned positively by some reviewers and may be a cultural fit for certain families. In short, strengths are in compassionate, hands-on care and a clean, family atmosphere; weaknesses are in accessibility, meal variety, and activity offerings.

About Tender Care Home for Adults 1

Tender Care Home for Adults 1 sits in a quiet, friendly neighborhood and has been helping seniors for over 14 years. The home started as a regular house and now cares for up to 6 adults at a time, making it feel calm and personal instead of crowded. Staff offer 24-hour supervision and help with bathing, dressing, moving around, and daily activities. Residents get home-cooked meals three times a day, with organic food choices and help for special diets or diabetes, which means people who need extra care get it. Medication management and transportation to doctor visits are included, so families worry less about scheduling appointments.

Each person has a private bedroom with a bathroom, and some rooms include kitchenettes and are fully furnished, though there're shared rooms too, so folks can pick what suits them. The home isn't wheelchair accessible because the halls and spaces are too narrow for motorized chairs, and this may be tough for some people who use them. Seniors can enjoy both indoor and outdoor common areas, like the tranquil Garden Room, the Recreation Lounge where games and group activities happen, and the Sunny Meadow Dining Room. There's Wi-Fi, cable TV, air conditioning, and a phone line, making it comfortable for everyday living.

Tender Care Home for Adults 1 gives choices for different care types-there's assisted living, memory care for those with memory loss, skilled nursing for those who need more help, respite care for short stays, hospice care, home health care (Medicare-certified), and non-medical home care. They also offer adult day services, and staff members like a House Manager and an Activities Coordinator make sure everyone gets personal attention, keeping up close communication with families and planning activities like crafts in the Creative Corner and music afternoons in the Harmony Suite. Outings and special events give people chances to socialize and celebrate.

The home makes life easy by handling cooking, cleaning, laundry, housekeeping, and move-in help, so residents don't have to worry about chores. The house stays well-kept and cozy, and staff try to know everyone and make them feel respected. The environment stays relaxed and friendly, with a real focus on treating each person with dignity and supporting independence when possible, which is important to many folks as they age. The care team is trained in adult care and takes time to get to know residents' needs, offering the kind of attention that's possible with a small group and a family-owned approach. Tender Care Home for Adults 1 is managed by Purple Door, LLC and gives an option for seniors who want a comfortable, simple place that isn't a big institution, paying attention to both physical and emotional well-being in a home-like atmosphere.
