    Very pleased with Anchor Way

I placed my mom at Anchor Way Senior Care and I'm very pleased. The owner is on-site daily and the long-tenured, caring staff go above and beyond; two caregivers per shift allow safe two-person assists. The small, home-like facility (under 16 residents) is sparkling clean with tidy grounds, home-cooked meals, occasional activities and live music, and all-inclusive, competitive pricing. I had complete peace of mind and would highly recommend it, though it's a bit remote for me.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing high-quality, personalized care in a small, home-like setting. The facility is frequently described as clean and sparkling, with tidy, attractive grounds and colorful interiors that contribute to a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Many reviewers use words such as friendly, upbeat, caring, and attentive to describe the staff; several highlight long-tenured caregivers and the hands-on involvement of management, noting that the owner and assistant manager are on-site and actively engaged in residents' care.

Care quality is a prominent strength. Reviewers consistently report structured, attentive care delivered with compassion — one family described the care as "the closest thing to having private care at home" and praised the peace of mind it provided. Staffing levels are a noted asset: the facility typically operates with two caregivers per shift and can provide two-person assists when needed. Families remark that staff often go above and beyond, treating residents respectfully and including families in care. This consistent, individualized attention is reinforced by the facility's small size (reports of 9–10 residents in one description and a 16-resident maximum in another), which reviewers link to a homelike, less institutional environment.

Facility features and amenities receive repeated praise. Reviewers call out the open floor plan and communal living quarters that encourage socialization, as well as home-style meals and occasional live entertainment such as musical acts. The grounds and visual environment (manicured lawn, flowers, colorful walls) are repeatedly mentioned as adding to residents' quality of life. Pricing is described as all-inclusive and competitive, with explicit mention that there are no hidden community fee differences — a point several reviewers appreciated.

There are some consistent caveats to consider. Location is the most frequently cited drawback: multiple reviewers note that Anchor Way is remote or "not close to me," and some call out narrow access roads that could be inconvenient or challenging for visitors and emergency access. The small, open, communal design that many families find appealing may be a downside for others; several reviews mention shared bathrooms and an open-concept layout that "was not a good fit" for a particular loved one. Activity programming receives mixed feedback — while there are social events and live entertainment at times, some reviewers observed that activities happen only "every now and then" and that staff are not always proactively interacting with residents.

In summary, Anchor Way Senior Care projects a strong reputation for warm, individualized care in a clean, home-like environment with engaged leadership and consistent staffing. Its small size, on-site management, and caregiver attentiveness are clear strengths that produce high family satisfaction and recommendations. Prospective residents and families should weigh these strengths against practical considerations: the remote location with narrow roads, the communal bathroom/open layout, and the variable frequency of organized activities. For families seeking a homelike setting with personalized attention and transparent all-inclusive pricing, Anchor Way appears highly recommended; for those who need close proximity, more private bathing arrangements, or consistently programmed activities, it may be less suitable.
