    Compassionate care in clean facility

I placed my mom here for a long stay and was very pleased. The staff (including the DON and nurse Sandi) are attentive, professional and compassionate; the home is warm, clean, and feels nicer than home with large private rooms and accessible features. On-site hair stylist, weekly music and holiday events, diabetic-friendly meals, and responsive care coordination made things easy. I'd recommend this as a very good, family-centered option.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Manchester Care Homes Queens Ferry is consistently described as a warm, home-like small community with a strong emphasis on individualized attention. Families emphasize the facility’s intimate scale, private rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and accessible physical features that support residents’ dignity and comfort. Cleanliness and general maintenance of the home are noted positively, and the environment is repeatedly characterized as welcoming and comfortable.

Care quality and staff: Reviewers repeatedly highlight attentive, compassionate, and professional caregivers. Nursing leadership and the director of nursing (DON) are described as responsive and personally engaged with residents, which contributes to timely clinical responses and coordinated care. Multiple comments point to respectful, patient interactions and prompt attention to medical needs; reviewers convey confidence in the staff’s competence and kindness.

Dining and nutrition: The facility provides in-house cooked meals, diabetic-friendly options, and accommodations for special diets. Staff willingness to adapt meals and address individual preferences is mentioned positively. At the same time, several comments describe the food as average or note limited variety, suggesting meal quality and menu breadth are areas that could be stronger relative to other aspects of care.

Activities and amenities: Programming emphasizes social and cultural engagement appropriate to the home’s scale. Regular weekly musical entertainment, holiday parties with special events, and an on-site hair stylist are recurring features that contribute to a family-style atmosphere. The small size supports personalized activities and frequent staff–resident interaction, though it also means fewer large-scale amenities compared with bigger facilities.

Management and patterns: Management and administration are portrayed as responsive and accommodating to families, with staff willing to work with preferences and adjust routines when needed. The facility’s small scale is a consistent theme: it supports individualized attention but may also limit availability of highly specialized clinical services and the redundancy of staffing seen in larger homes. Prospective residents and families should weigh the benefit of close-knit care against potential constraints in specialized resources or during periods of higher clinical acuity.

Bottom line: Manchester Care Homes Queens Ferry appears well suited for residents and families seeking a home-like, highly attentive environment with engaged nursing leadership, regular social programming, and individualized dietary accommodations. Those who require extensive specialty services or a broader range of institutional amenities may want to verify available clinical capabilities and staffing levels as part of their decision process.

About Manchester Care Homes Queens Ferry

Manchester Care Homes Queens Ferry is a small, family-owned assisted living care home located in Dallas, licensed as TYPE B SMALL with eight private suites, each with a large bedroom and an ADA-compliant bathroom. Inside, you'll find high ceilings, crown moulding, granite countertops, roll-in showers, and flat-panel HDTVs, all in a home-like setting where residents can move around easily. Each resident gets personalized care because the staff-to-resident ratio is usually four to one or better, sometimes even three to one during the day, with full-time, certified nurse aides and a director of nursing who checks in daily. Caregivers are always awake, doing hourly room and bed checks, and they help with all activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and walking, offering support 24/7 alongside daily monitoring of weight and blood pressure. Manchester Care Homes Queens Ferry provides daily housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance, and everyone gets fresh, scratch-cooked meals and healthy snacks, with meals that can be tailored to individual needs and a focus on organic ingredients. There's a concierge physician available for house calls, plus podiatry, wound care, nursing, occupational therapy, and transportation to doctor's appointments.

Residents find a comfortable setting with private or shared rooms, kitchenettes, private bathrooms, telephones, air-conditioning, and all the basics covered including TV, cable, internet, and utilities. The property has a game room, dining room, beauty salon and barbershop, fitness center, guest parking, good wifi, a sprinkler system, washers and dryers, an emergency call system in each suite, and nice outdoor spaces with gardens. Social activities feature visits from entertainers like singers and guitar players, and there are group activities, daily exercise, arts and crafts, education programs, and wellness programs to give everyone something to do and a chance to connect. The home is run with hands-on ownership and oversight by a medical director, and the staff receive ongoing training, so they know the residents well and respond quickly to any need. There are no hidden fees, so families know what to expect from the start. The environment doesn't feel institutional, and with around five residents living there, people get to know each other, making it easier to build friendships and feel comfortable in their own space. Tours and assessments can be arranged to help decide on the right level of care. The starting price for assisted living is $6,200, and Manchester Care Homes operates four such homes in Dallas, all offering similar amenities and a personal touch. Facility ID is 105262, License No. 147241.
