    Caring staff, home-like, budget-friendly choice

I chose this small, family-like senior living community and overall I'm pleased - the staff are genuinely caring and responsive, Executive Director Lori Lee and activities director Cynthia are excellent, and consistent caregivers made the transition smooth. It's very clean, feels like home, offers good meals, reliable transportation/appointment support (they even stay during appointments and take residents out to eat), and I get helpful updates and photos. The building is dated, activities can be hit-or-miss and there are occasional staffing shortages, so it's a great, budget-friendly fit for many but not ideal for very active residents or complex memory-care needs.

    About Brookdale Georgetown

Brookdale Georgetown sits on a campus with a two-story building, welcoming residents through a lobby that leads to comfortable community living rooms, a cozy television lounge, patios, sunrooms, and activity rooms where people gather for all sorts of programs and social things on a full calendar, and you'll also find a library stocked with books and a fully enclosed sunroom where folks can relax no matter the weather, and you can notice right off that people can choose suites to live in, bringing in their own favorite furnishings to make it feel like home. Residents in independent living can enjoy freedom and convenience, while those who need help can get assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing services, respite care for short stays, or even hospice care, and the staff are always on-site, 24 hours a day, every day, trained to help with emergencies or daily needs like bathing, dressing, grooming, getting around, medication management, and help comes in a personalized way as every person is different, and the care team focuses on supporting independence while helping as needed. The campus has both indoor and outdoor areas, including sizable patios, quiet porches, and sunrooms, plus mobility-friendly layouts, wide hallways, no tight turns, and easy access to community features, while you'll also see safety systems like alert buttons and keypad entries for added security. Brookdale Georgetown lets people have meals in a restaurant-style dining room with menu options shaped by what residents say they want to eat, and meals are included for all residents, while those who like to cook in their own place can sometimes pick kitchens or kitchenettes. Amenities include resident parking, a beautician on site, devotional services, and transportation both complimentary and paid, and pets are welcome as the facility is pet-friendly. There are things to do every day, from fitness classes and card games to live music and quiet moments or spiritual gatherings, all aimed at keeping folks active and connected in a supportive environment, with skilled nursing care and memory care close by for those living with Alzheimer's or dementia, and a dedicated memory care area that's safe and designed to reduce confusion and prevent wandering. The whole place, you'll notice, is made with comfort and accessibility in mind, offering a range of services as part of its continuing care retirement community features, meaning residents can stay on the same campus as their care needs change, and if somebody wants to age in place, or just needs a bit of help at home, there are at-home care services provided by trained aides, making it easier to live well and feel secure.

    About Brookdale

Brookdale Georgetown is managed by Brookdale.

Brookdale Senior Living Inc. (NYSE: BKD) is the largest senior living operator in the United States, managing over 640 communities with capacity for approximately 59,000 residents across 41 states and employing around 36,000 associates. Founded in 1978 and publicly traded since 2005, Brookdale solidified its market leadership through major acquisitions including American Retirement Corporation (2006) and Emeritus Senior Living (2014), making it the only national full-spectrum senior living company. Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Brookdale has topped the American Seniors Housing Association's ASHA 50 list and Argentum's largest providers list for multiple consecutive years.

The company's comprehensive care continuum includes independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). Brookdale's signature Clare Bridge program, developed over 30 years ago by dementia-care experts, provides specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care through two distinct levels: Clare Bridge communities for comprehensive memory support and the Clare Bridge Solace program for advanced-stage dementia residents. The program is recognized by the Alzheimer's Association® for incorporating evidence-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations and features secure environments, enclosed courtyards, Daily Path programming with six structured activities daily, and the InTouch technology platform offering personalized brain-stimulating games and therapeutic content.

Brookdale's holistic Optimum Life® wellness approach balances six dimensions—Purposeful, Physical, Emotional, Social, Spiritual, and Intellectual—implemented through signature programs including B-Fit (eight exercise class options), Brain Fit (mental fitness workouts), My Life Story (resident storytelling), EngagementPlus (interest-based connections), Growing Together (collaborative learning), and The Ageless Spirit (kindness and gratitude practices). The Embrace Family Partnership provides caregiver education and support for families of memory care residents.

The company's Brookdale HealthPlus® care coordination model, winner of the 2024 Argentum Best of the Best Award placing it among the top 1% of operators, is a technology-enabled healthcare service featuring dedicated RN Care Managers who proactively manage residents' health, coordinate care transitions, and help prevent avoidable hospitalizations. Communities using HealthPlus report 78% fewer urgent care visits, 36% fewer hospitalizations, and 63% more completed annual wellness visits. The Personal Solutions program delivers hygiene products, medications, and daily necessities directly to residents' doors with discreet packaging and monthly billing convenience.

Following a strategic divestiture of its home health and hospice operations to HCA Healthcare (completed December 2023), Brookdale now focuses exclusively on senior living operations while maintaining its position as the industry's largest operator, committed to its mission of enriching lives with compassion, respect, excellence, and integrity.
