    Caring staff but cleanliness concerns

I visit often and I'm impressed by the caring, engaged staff, the cozy, well-decorated facility, plentiful activities, good food and responsive management - my loved one seemed happy and well supported. However I've also seen high staff turnover, gaps in training and hygiene (filthy carpets, odors, misplaced laundry and even signs of feces at times; staff not always following basic precautions), plus billing and communication problems and periodic rate increases. In short: many positives that brought us peace of mind, but serious cleanliness, training and admin issues mean prospective families should inspect carefully.

    About The Oaks of Granbury

The Oaks of Granbury is a senior living community that offers assisted living, independent living, and nursing home services, and it sits within the Creative Solutions in Healthcare family network, so residents have access to a range of care options, from personal assistance to skilled care, including memory care, vent care, rehab, in-house dialysis, and Veterans Affairs services. The community has private bedrooms or living spaces, some of which come with kitchenettes, and residents get daily chef-prepared meals that focus on quality and nutrition, which is a nice touch for those who care about meal quality and healthy options, and there's help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, grooming, or medication management for those who need it, as well as diabetic care, non-ambulatory care, incontinence care, and regular wellness checks. The team at The Oaks of Granbury is made up of skilled staff who can provide supervision and health assessments, connecting with physicians or home health providers when needed, and the site has a 24-hour call system, call boxes, and pull cords for safety. Life at The Oaks includes a variety of activities, with on-site devotional groups, off-site outings, and life-enriching events designed for seniors who want to stay active and engaged, while community areas and indoor spaces offer places for residents to spend time together, watch TV, or relax, and transportation is available for errands or appointments. Housekeeping, laundry, and trash services are handled by the staff, and there's routine cleaning following CDC standards, as well as beauty and barber services for residents who want them. The community works hard to create a comfortable, home-like atmosphere, with maintenance-free living, customizable options, and small, personal care that aims to meet each person's needs, and they've set up ways for families and residents to share concerns with a customer care line. The Oaks of Granbury keeps up a presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and there's a contact form and an executive director email for reaching out, though there's no detailed public information available about the facility.
