    Resident loves community, care, food

I love living here - the staff treat me like family, residents are safe and well cared for, and my family has real peace of mind. The community is beautiful, clean and welcoming, the food is tasty with vegetarian and traditional options, and activities keep me engaged so I've made friends. Memory care and nursing staff are excellent and my move was seamless. It can be pricey and there have been rare communication delays with outside doctors, but overall this place is a perfect fit for me and I highly recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Pegasus Landing of Chisholm Trail is strongly positive, driven primarily by the quality of frontline staff, the engaging activity program, and the appearance and upkeep of the community. The most consistent theme is praise for caregivers: reviewers repeatedly call staff caring, compassionate, attentive, and willing to go above and beyond. Multiple names are singled out for praise (for instance Alicia, Liza, Dennis and others), and many reviewers describe the environment as family-like, safe, and welcoming. Long-tenured employees and a stable memory care team are cited as strengths that contribute to continuity of care and resident satisfaction.

Memory care and dementia engagement receive especially positive commentary. Reviewers highlight a dedicated memory care nurse and an outstanding memory care team that provides tailored engagement for residents with cognitive impairment. The facility offers bridge options from independent living to memory care, which families appreciate as a continuum of care. Reviewers also frequently mention that residents are active and social — activities such as piano, bingo, Mexican Train, painting, music and sports are common and described as “off the charts” or highly engaging. Activity programming is a clear selling point and contributes to resident wellbeing and satisfaction.

Facility maintenance, grounds and community aesthetics are another strong area. Many reviews describe Pegasus Landing as clean, well-maintained, and recently updated with visible curb appeal improvements. The property is described as beautiful both inside and out; small remodels and ongoing upgrades are noted. Apartment size is generally seen as favorable compared with some competing communities, and weekly apartment cleaning and regular grounds upkeep are appreciated. The community is also pet-friendly and considered secure, giving families peace of mind.

Dining receives mixed but generally favorable reviews. A large number of reviewers praise the meals as delicious, nutritious and offering both vegetarian and traditional options; culinary improvements and a new director for meals are highlighted by some. However, there are recurring contrasting reports where a subset of reviewers describe the food as subpar or repetitive (examples like “beans and cabbage” were mentioned), indicating inconsistency in dining experiences or differences in expectations among residents and families.

Admissions, move-in and customer-facing staff are consistently commended for smooth transitions and responsiveness. Several reviewers note quick admission lead times, helpful move-in support and a warm, stress-free touring process. Marketing and admissions staff are repeatedly called amazing or outstanding, and many families felt the process was seamless. This contributes to the facility’s strong reputation and high demand; reviewers note limited apartment availability as a byproduct of its popularity.

Notable concerns should be taken seriously despite being less common than positive comments. The most serious single-item concern reported is a claim that staff delayed contacting a doctor during a stroke — a clinical safety issue that families and prospective residents would want clarified with management. Other recurring negatives involve leadership, communication and consistency: a number of reviews describe management as profit-focused, note poor communication about events or programming (e.g., satellite guide issues), cite broken promises or dishonest answers to care questions, and call out the Executive Director and Director of Nursing for lacking social skills. There are also reports of busy RN staff who are hard to reach by email or of occasional rude interactions; while these are in the minority, they point to variability in the resident experience depending on specific staff members or shifts.

Pricing and availability show mixed signals. Several reviewers describe the community as affordable or budget-friendly with standout pricing, while others label it expensive. This suggests variability in unit types, care levels, or the timing of rate changes; combined with high demand and limited availability, pricing perceptions vary by resident situation. Similarly, the facility is described as an older building in parts — with facelifts in progress — so some units feel renovated and attractive while others feel worn and in need of further updates.

In summary, Pegasus Landing of Chisholm Trail earns strong praise for its compassionate and engaged staff, robust activity program, solid memory care capabilities, and overall clean, attractive campus. These strengths generate high resident satisfaction and demand. Prospective residents and families should, however, inquire specifically about clinical protocols (especially emergency response and RN availability), leadership and communication practices, dining consistency, and current unit condition/renovation status. Asking for concrete examples of emergency procedures, recent quality reports, sample menus, and a tour of the specific apartment unit available will help balance the overwhelmingly positive impressions with the isolated but important concerns raised in reviews.

About Pegasus Landing of Chisholm Trail

Pegasus Landing of Chisholm Trail sits on a large green campus at 513 S Old Betsy Rd in Keene, TX, and used to be called Chisholm Trail Estates Senior Living, and you'll see it's built to meet many different needs, with independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and even home care all on the same property, so residents can move between care levels as needs change. The independent living apartments come in many sizes-studio, one, two, three, or even four bedrooms-with full-size kitchens, stacked washer and dryer units, cable, utilities, and housekeeping all included in one monthly rate, so there aren't many surprise costs, and you get soaring ceilings, modern fixtures, and private patios too. Pets are welcome, and staff offer pet care services, so folks who want to bring a dog or cat often can, which means company and comfort for many seniors.

The community has paved walking paths and even a bass-stocked fishing pond for those who like to fish, plus plenty of outdoor space, which includes a private courtyard and patio where people sit and visit, and inside, there are updated common rooms for social gatherings and a well-stocked library. There are also many activities like stretching classes, art, karaoke, outings, and programs that include pet-focused visits and "Live Well" wellness activities. Residents get a wide range of meal choices with chef-prepared seasonal dishes, restaurant-style service, kosher and vegetarian options, and resident-led meal decisions, so meals are varied if you've got special tastes or needs. Housekeeping, laundry, and transportation for appointments or errands are all included, and there's a nurse on staff, a doctor on call, help with daily tasks like bathing and dressing, and medication management for those who need it, so health support is right there.

The memory care area comes with its own building that was purpose-built for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, including safety features to prevent wandering and staff trained for memory care, and for those who need help moving, staff can do one-person or two-person assisted transfers, even with mechanical lifts if needed. The community has devotional services, daily activities, and a business staff who'll answer questions and help families understand their choices without pressuring anyone for payment info up front, and there's a toll-free number and an online option for comparing reviews and prices too-reviews show a rating of about 4.0 stars and prices are published by the month, broken down by unit type, so families can see costs clearly.

The location gives access to grocery stores like Brookshire's, Walmart Supercenter, and Albertsons, with local parks and museums for outings, and nearby hospitals such as Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South. The leadership team is experienced, with over 50 years combined in senior living, and the goal is always to support residents with kindness and integrity, making sure people can stay as independent as possible with help right there whenever it's needed, which gives families some peace of mind. There are apartments, townhomes, some luxury listings, and all the units are pet-friendly, but there's no detailed info about parking or things like pools. Wheelchair accessible showers, full tubs, grab bars, and hospice or respite care are all available if someone needs them. The community has staff on site 24 hours a day, so there's always help nearby. The whole setup encourages residents to stay social, enjoy their hobbies, and feel safe while settling into a place that tries to make life both simpler and a bit more comfortable.
