    About Laurel House

Laurel House is a small group home that gives care and support to seniors who need help with daily living but still want the comfort of a home-like setting, and has enough room for 11 residents, giving more of a close and calm environment instead of a big facility, and the caregivers, who are well trained and caring, provide help day and night in shifts that last either 8 or 12 hours, and whether someone needs help with dressing, bathing, grooming, transferring, toileting or any of those day-to-day things, there's always someone to lend a hand, and there's support for residents who might have Alzheimer's or other memory problems, with programs that give stimulation and care for those needs, and there are a few private and furnished rooms for comfort and easy living, and wheelchair access makes it easier for people to get around, and the dining room serves three meals every day along with snacks, which can be changed for special diets like diabetes or allergy-sensitive plans, and laundry, housekeeping, and meal prep are all covered, too, so the residents don't have to worry about chores. Residents can enjoy outdoor time on walking paths or in the garden, join in on movie nights, and take part in community programs run by Laurel House, and the dining area and gardens are set up to make it easier to connect with one another and enjoy daily life, and there are emergency alert systems to keep everyone safe and a system for quick response should anything happen, so families often feel a bit more at ease about their loved ones, and transportation and parking are available for trips or visits, and the staff helps talk to healthcare providers about any medical needs residents might have, so people can stay on top of their health, and the facility lets residents use HomeHealth or Hospice services as needed, and there's also a range of mental health resources and care aimed at supporting recovery and daily wellbeing, and this can mean a lot for folks who are dealing with mental health concerns as well as needing help with physical care. Laurel House operates as a nonprofit with a focus on helping people live fulfilling lives in their community, and it even offers a Social Work Racial Equity Scholarship each year to support diversity in mental health. The facility offers several different kinds of care, like residential care, assisted living, memory care, and board and care home services, and it comes with tailored programs, each with names and terms unique to Laurel House.
