    Caring staff and activities, pricey

I highly recommend this facility - the new owners and manager are respectful and empathetic, and the caregivers are caring, attentive, and help with feeding, bathroom needs, and dementia care. They run lots of activities (memory programs, sing-alongs), pick up residents' favorite items, and the staff are accommodating and positive; food is adequate. Downsides: our monthly cost jumped about $1,000 and the hair professional was unavailable so we had to cut my mom's hair.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with reviewers repeatedly praising the quality of hands-on care, the breadth of activities, and the attentiveness of staff. Multiple comments highlight a robust activity program that includes memory-focused activities and sing-alongs, indicating the facility emphasizes engagement and cognitive stimulation. Reviewers repeatedly describe caregivers as thoughtful, caring, and attentive — staff are noted to check on clients frequently and provide practical help with personal care tasks such as bathroom assistance and feeding. There is a consistent theme that staff show empathy and respectful communication, contributing to residents feeling well cared for.

Care for residents with dementia is a distinct strength in the reviews: staff are described as understanding dementia-related needs and providing appropriate, individualized care. Several reviewers specifically mention that the facility provides great care for dementia patients and that staff understand and accommodate those needs. Personalized practices — for example, staff picking up residents' favorite items — reinforce the impression of individualized attention and a resident-centered approach. The facility hours recommended by reviewers (approximately 8:30–4:30) suggest a structured daytime program that reviewers found suitable for their needs.

Management and ownership receive positive remarks: reviewers call out a great manager and praise the new owners as fantastic and understanding. This suggests leadership is visible and engaged, and that recent ownership changes have been perceived favorably by families and referrers. Staff morale and workplace culture also appear positive, with at least one reviewer noting they are great people to work with — an indicator that the staff environment likely supports consistent, compassionate care.

Dining and general environment are described positively but with modest language — reviewers note good or adequate food and describe the place as very nice. The combination of cordial, accommodating staff and a pleasant environment contributes to an overall favorable impression for families seeking daytime services.

Notable concerns are limited but important. One reviewer reported a substantial monthly expense increase (around $1,000), which indicates potential affordability or billing changes that prospective families should clarify before enrolling. Another recurring issue is an unreliable on-site hair or salon service; at least one family reported a hair professional was unavailable and staff had to cut a resident's hair instead. These service gaps are not framed as systemic failures in care, but they are practical inconveniences that could affect quality-of-life services and should be confirmed with management.

In summary, the reviews portray Golden Grace Day Activity and Health Services as a compassionate, activity-rich daytime care provider with particular strengths in dementia care, attentive personal assistance, and engaged leadership. Families repeatedly recommend the program and emphasize staff empathy and personalization of care. Prospective clients should, however, ask about current pricing and any recent fee changes and verify the availability of ancillary services such as on-site hair care. Overall, the facility appears to deliver a high level of day-to-day care and engagement for its residents, especially those with memory-related needs.
