    Compassionate family-style care, highly recommended

I placed my parent in this family-owned, palace-like home on a beautiful 7-acre property and I'm very pleased - spotless, bright rooms, modern conveniences, great home-cooked food, engaging activities, and kind, attentive caregivers with hands-on owners who gave us real peace of mind. My parent settled in, improved, and feels at home; the location is convenient (about 15-25 minutes to Conroe/The Woodlands). Caveats: it's a small facility with no transportation, and there have been occasional staffing/management hiccups and at least one medication concern - worth asking about up front. Overall, I highly recommend it for compassionate, family-style care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is predominantly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing cleanliness, a home-like atmosphere, and hands-on, family-run ownership. The facility is repeatedly described as spotless, modern, and beautifully furnished, set on a large 7-acre property that contributes to a country-living feel while remaining convenient to nearby cities. Many families report that Genesis Senior Care II provides peace of mind, and they frequently note that the environment feels more like a true home than an institution.

Care quality is a major strength according to the majority of summaries. Caregivers are widely described as compassionate, attentive, and respectful; multiple reviewers mention tangible improvements in residents’ well-being (for example, weight gain, improved health, and no falls since moving in). Owners are characterized as accessible, knowledgeable about state requirements, and actively involved in day-to-day operations, which many families find reassuring. Several staff members are named and praised repeatedly (Michelle, Deena, Tyisha, Mary, Jordan, Lisette, Robert), suggesting strong relationships between families and particular caregivers.

Facility features and location receive consistent praise. Reviewers highlight spacious, well-sized rooms with TV hookups, large pleasant common areas (big living room, porte-cochere), and meticulously maintained grounds. The building is described as bright, fresh, and up to date. The small scale of the facility is viewed positively by many—making visits easy and helping foster a close-knit, family-like community.

Dining and activities are also commonly mentioned as positives. Many reviews note home-cooked meals that compare favorably to prior facilities, and families describe varied engagement opportunities such as bingo, balloon games, live music and performances, and Bible study. These programs, coupled with frequent outings and family-friendly amenities, reinforce the homelike, engaging environment reported by residents and families.

Despite the strong positive themes, a number of serious concerns recur and should be weighed carefully. Medication management issues are among the most significant complaints: reviewers report failures to track last doses, night staff being unaware of medication status, and at least one sad outcome linked to delays and an ambulance wait. These accounts present a potential safety risk and stand in stark contrast to other reviews that report trustworthy, high-quality care. Related operational issues noted include staff turnover (including a chef leaving), lack of provided transportation, and higher pricing cited by some families.

There are also mixed reports about staff demeanor and management. While many reviewers praise specific aides and describe owners as calming and compassionate, others report rude or verbally abusive staff, an unwelcoming phone demeanor, and instances of poor management behavior (including manager tantrums and allegations of racial comments toward employees). Another pattern is repeated glowing reviews that appear staff-driven—with recurring staff names and uniformly positive language—which has led some reviewers to question review credibility. Together, these patterns suggest variability in staff conduct and management culture that prospective families should explore further.

In synthesis, Genesis Senior Care II has a strong reputation among many families for cleanliness, a homelike environment, hands-on ownership, compassionate caregivers, good food, and engaging activities. However, multiple serious warnings about medication tracking and episodic poor staff or management behavior are present and should not be ignored. Prospective residents and families would be well advised to tour the home, meet the owners and direct-care staff, ask explicitly about medication administration and documentation protocols (including night staffing and emergency procedures), inquire about staff turnover, confirm transportation options, and request recent references or incident logs to reconcile the generally glowing testimonials with the safety and management concerns raised.

    About Genesis Senior Care II

Genesis Senior Care II sits out on 14290 FM 2854 Road in Montgomery, Texas, and offers senior care in a quiet, small, and friendly community with about sixteen beds, so people living there tend to know each other, and staff can give more personalized help, whether someone needs a little or a lot of support each day. Residents can choose between private suites and shared rooms-some are fully furnished, including cable TV, internet, telephone access, air conditioning, kitchenettes, and private bathrooms. Assisted living makes up the main service, with staff on watch day and night to help with baths, getting dressed, walking, moving from bed or chair, toileting, eating, and medication, plus they handle all the routine jobs like cleaning and laundry, so seniors don't need to bother with those chores. For meals, people enjoy a dining room for gathering, scheduled meal times and all-day dining choices, and the staff does their best to help anyone who has food allergies, diabetes, or other dietary needs, so no one feels left out at the table.

There's also memory care, nursing home support, independent living, home care, and skilled nursing offered, so seniors with different needs or changing conditions have choices as time goes on, and the facility coordinates with healthcare providers for checkups or special concerns. Genesis Senior Care II holds religious services, organizes trips to appointments, stores, and local gatherings, and sets up plenty of movie nights, group events, and outdoor walks-people can enjoy the garden or use the walking paths if they want a little air. Residents have easy access to telephone, cable, and internet for staying in touch or watching TV, and there's an emergency alert system in each room for safety. Seniors who use wheelchairs or need mobility support will find the shared spaces and bathrooms set up to be accessible.

The facility is a Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity Provider, and as of now it's rated as the fifth highest senior community in Montgomery with a score of 7 out of 10, so most families and residents who shared reviews seemed satisfied but not every single thing is perfect. Genesis Senior Care II sits about 7.6 miles outside Conroe, which means it's in a quieter spot, but it's still not too far from town or hospitals if something comes up. Staff help new residents settle in and adjust during move-in, and the variety of care options lets people stay in the same place even as their needs change, so families don't have to worry about moving a loved one later on. Seniors get housekeeping, fresh meals, social activities, and round-the-clock care, but still keep some independence thanks to an adaptable setup. Genesis Senior Care II does what it can to create a warm, caring home with the basics covered and a few special touches for well-being.
