    Trusted attentive staff; highly recommended

I highly recommend this long-standing (17+ year) residential-style senior home. The owners are personally involved and the staff are professional, attentive, trustworthy and genuinely caring - my mom is safe, happy and feels at home; the process was easy, communication was prompt, and they even celebrated her birthday.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the collected reviews for Eckelberry Elder Care is strongly positive. The dominant themes are consistent: families repeatedly highlight compassionate, competent staff and a secure, home-like environment. Care quality is framed in personal, relational terms — reviewers emphasize that their loved ones feel safe, content, and ‘‘at home.’’ Several summaries use language such as ‘‘family-like care,’’ ‘‘genuine loving home,’’ and note that residents (mothers and fathers) are happy and well looked after. Attention to detail and personalized care are recurring points, suggesting individualized caregiving rather than an institutional approach.

Staff performance is the most frequently cited strength. Reviewers describe staff as helpful, capable, trustworthy, kind, patient, and personable. Phrases like ‘‘staff exceed expectations,’’ ‘‘attentive staff,’’ and ‘‘owners' personal involvement’’ point to hands-on engagement from both caregivers and management. Leadership also receives praise — mentions of a ‘‘great director’’ and an ‘‘upbeat owner’’ contribute to a perception of engaged, accessible management. The combination of professional staff and involved ownership appears to foster a warm, familial culture that reviewers trust and recommend.

Facility characteristics are emphasized as homelike and residential, not institutional. Multiple reviews note a ‘‘homey atmosphere,’’ ‘‘safe and comfortable environment,’’ and ‘‘owners are wonderful & caring.’’ The facility’s longevity (more than 17 years) is repeatedly mentioned and reinforces perceptions of stability and trust. Community life receives positive nods as well — at least one review lists birthday celebrations and a generally positive vibe, indicating staff and management put effort into resident engagement and meaningful events.

The intake and placement experience is another consistent positive. Reviewers reference a helpful placement agent/service described as free, prompt in contact, providing comprehensive listings, following up, and making the process easy. This suggests the facility either coordinates well with placement resources or is recommended through effective, family-oriented referral channels. Overall customer service — from initial contact through placement — is described as professional and supportive.

The primary negative or cautionary note in the summaries is a mention of ‘‘deterioration of residents.’’ This phrase appears without context and could reflect natural progression of residents’ health over time rather than a service deficiency; however, it is the only explicit concern reported among the summaries. Given the overwhelmingly positive comments about safety, care quality, and attention from staff, this isolated note should be interpreted cautiously. Families considering the facility may want to ask direct questions about staffing levels, medical oversight, and how the home manages progressive decline to ensure expectations align.

In summary, the reviews portray Eckelberry Elder Care as a long-standing, family-oriented residential care home with compassionate, attentive staff and engaged ownership. Strengths include personalized caregiving, a warm and safe environment, effective intake/placement support, and a strong track record of recommendations. The single noted concern about resident deterioration is not elaborated upon in the summaries and should be explored further by prospective families, but it does not appear to dominate the otherwise highly favorable feedback.

    About Eckelberry Elder Care

Eckelberry Elder Care sits at 500 Willowview Drive in Prosper, Texas, near a large community park with an Olympic-sized swimming pool, brooks, waterfalls, ponds, and walking trails, so residents can enjoy peaceful outdoor views and fresh air when they want to, and the Willowridge neighborhood has lakes, a playscape, and a pavilion close by, so there's always a nice place for a stroll or to visit with family outside for a bit. The building itself is a single-story, so there's no stairs to worry about, which makes moving around much easier, and since all rooms are wheelchair-accessible, folks who need mobility help don't have to worry about getting where they need to go. Residents get to choose between private and semi-private rooms, and there are both assisted living and memory care options, so each person finds the care that suits them best, and owner Barbara, who keeps things positive and welcoming, along with her staff, makes sure the atmosphere stays cozy, kind, and homelike, not like a big nursing home.

People here get help tailored to what they need, so if someone just needs a hand with bathing, dressing, or maybe taking medicine, the staff is always ready, and they also handle things like meals, laundry, and housekeeping, which takes a lot of the daily work off residents' hands. Meals come home-cooked, and the kitchen staff can follow special diets if someone's doctor or therapist says so, making sure everyone eats what's right for them. On top of regular care, physical, occupational, and speech therapy are available, so when folks need extra help to keep up strength or speech, they can get that right inside the facility, and when the time comes, there's podiatry, dentist visits, and hospice support as well, all provided onsite or through home health. Residents can enjoy beauty and barber services, group activities, social events in the indoor common areas, and structured programs for both wellness and fun, so every week brings something new to do, whether it's a game, an exercise class, or a spiritual service.

Eckelberry Elder Care offers independent living, assisted living, memory care for folks with dementia or Alzheimer's, skilled nursing home support around the clock, and even respite care for folks who need a short stay, so they cover most kinds of needs as seniors change or face challenges. The whole place is pet-friendly, handy for residents with a close pet, and Wi-Fi is available for staying connected. Residents have access to transportation for shopping, doctor's visits, or going to community events, and management handles medication administration. The family-like environment is fostered by courteous caregivers who bring patience and personalized attention to their work, building cherished relationships with residents so everyone feels included and supported. As a Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity provider, Eckelberry Elder Care welcomes everyone and works to make care affordable, offering several different options, including residential care home services and CCRC programs, so folks can stay in one place as needs change. The facility keeps things simple, supportive, clean, and lively, offering a sense of home and attentive care in a safe, secure place for older adults.
