    Caring staff, nice facility, concerns

I've been pleased with the caring, responsive staff, clean well-kept facility, bright spacious rooms, active social life and easy courtyard access - move-in was smooth and my mom is happy and well cared for. Downsides: meals are often bland, cold and inconsistent; leadership turnover and occasional unresponsiveness/billing or maintenance delays are real concerns, and memory-care reports are mixed. I recommend this community for the staff and atmosphere, but visit multiple times and ask detailed questions about dining and management before committing.

    About Waterford at Westover Hills

Waterford at Westover Hills is a senior living community in Texas (License #307337) serving people age 55 and up with a big range of care types, and now what you'll notice first might be that it sits in a single-story building that's got bright, cheerful colors on the outside with warm flags and a friendly entrance, so once you walk inside you'll see comfortable apartments with dining spaces, kitchenettes, wood floors, decorative shelves, big TVs, and bedrooms that get lots of natural light through big windows, and if you look around the bathroom, you'll see safety bars, easy-access sinks, and wood-style flooring, which helps cut down on slips. This place can support up to 132 people in assisted living and 62 more in the memory care unit that's set up just for folks with Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia, and the staff can help residents who use wheelchairs, need help at night, or require hands-on help during emergencies, with round-the-clock caregivers and nurses there all the time, and there's a 24-hour call system set up in every apartment in case anyone needs help right away. Waterford at Westover Hills offers independent living for those who don't need support but want to be around others in a social setting, assisted living for those who want help with activities like meals and bathing, plus memory care for people living with dementia, and there's even skilled nursing and an on-site rehab clinic for anyone who needs therapy or higher care. Outside, folks can relax in beautiful gardens and patios with nice seating and sights of the courtyards, or spend time near cozy fireplaces in the common rooms, and there's also a spa for unwinding after a long day. Residents can keep busy with plenty of activities that are run both by people who live here and by groups from the local community, and there's an activity room with lots of seating and tables, a fitness room with programs for all ability levels, well-kept arts and crafts rooms, a big library, and even a game room for fun and socializing. The dining areas in both assisted living and memory care look calming and are decorated nicely, with ambient lighting and comfortable furniture, and folks can also get medication management, help with daily tasks, and bereavement or grief support when needed. Help for disabilities includes things like advocacy, technology support, counseling, and family caregiver help, and the community even has services like child care and adult day care. The community earned a community score of 6.0 on Seniorly's ratings, which gives some idea of how it stands with others, and the place is focused on helping people feel comfortable, safe, and supported, whether it's through their therapy options, support for non-ambulatory folks, easy-access features, or social spaces that promote connection and relaxation.
