About Waltonwood South Riding (Coming Soon)

Waltonwood South Riding is a future senior living community planned for South Riding, Virginia, sitting close to shopping, dining, and medical services, with Dulles Airport nearby for convenient travel, and it'll have a grand entrance, landscaped grounds, cozy courtyards, scenic ponds, and gardens with gazebos, so residents can enjoy an outdoor space that's pretty and peaceful. The community's meant to support seniors needing independent living, assisted living, or memory care, and the building will have a variety of furnished apartments including studios, one- and two-bedroom units, both private and semi-private, all designed with kitchenettes, cable TV, individual climate controls, some pet-friendly options, and rooms for those needing handicap features or extra help. The common areas include a spacious dining room, private dining spaces, a library, computer center, movie theater, game and billiard room, multipurpose activity room, fitness center with special HUR equipment made for seniors, and a hair salon and spa center that offers massage therapy and a therapy pool, plus there's a cafe, lounges, laundry rooms, guest suites, outdoor walking paths, and an extensive sidewalk system that links up to nearby shops and commercial spots.

The community is being built with security and wellness in mind, so residents will have access to 24-hour call systems, help with medication, daily living tasks like bathing, dressing, and moving around, dementia and hospice waiver services, as well as regular housekeeping, laundry, and linen support, and there's full meal service each day with dietitian-approved menus and restaurant-style or all-day dining. Activities include community-sponsored and resident-run events, things like art therapy, music programs, exercise classes, movies, educational lessons, outdoor time, social gatherings, and trips, and memory care residents will have special programs for cognitive support and mental wellness, along with secure spaces and monitored entry for safety. Medical services include nurse and physician visits, incontinence support, podiatry, and respite care, and the staff coordinates transportation for medical appointments and visits outside the building.

The grounds are being designed to be elegant but comfortable, with terraces for dining, fireplaces in several gathering spots, and lots of natural light, and the community is built for different support levels so people can stay as independent as possible while getting help when needed. The facility will have office hours each day, plans to offer both guest accommodations and move-in coordination, and a focus on providing a worry-free setting where seniors can enjoy daily life whether they need a little help, memory support, or full assistance. Waltonwood South Riding is still being developed, and no specific opening date or capacity has been announced yet.
