      Caring, attentive staff; improved health

I placed my parent here and couldn't be happier - the staff are professional, responsive and truly caring, treating residents like family. The home is super clean, homey and well-run with nutritious (keto-friendly) meals, activities (bingo, piano, BBQ), exercise room and a personal trainer - my loved one's mobility and health improved and meds were reduced. Care is hands-on 24/7 with excellent communication during hospital/rehab transfers, a smooth move-in, and even room customization (painted favorite color); roughly $3-3,500/mo. Availability is limited, but I highly recommend this caring, attentive place - outstanding staff and a calm, upbeat environment.

      Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive: families repeatedly describe A Paradise for Parents on Campbell Avenue as a caring, well-run small group home where residents receive compassionate, attentive, and professional care. Reviewers consistently highlight the staff as the facility’s strongest asset—described as patient, responsive, friendly, and highly trained. Many reviews emphasize that caregivers go beyond routine care to treat residents like family, provide hands-on assistance, respond promptly to questions, and keep families regularly updated. Several family members explicitly report feeling confident about their placement decision and would recommend the home to others.

Care quality and medical support are frequently praised. Multiple reviewers note that the facility maintains high standards of care, offers 24/7 availability, and handles individualized needs such as oxygen therapy. A nutritionist is involved with meal planning, and staff accommodate dietary needs (examples include keto-friendly options and specific cereal regimens). Some families reported measurable improvements in mobility and health—citing exercise programs, a personal trainer, and reductions in medications—indicative of proactive therapeutic programming rather than purely custodial care.

Facilities and safety features are described as clean, well-kept, and homelike. Reviewers note super-clean common areas and resident rooms, nicely appointed furnishings, and successful efforts to make rooms personal (painting a room a resident’s favorite color, for example). The property includes practical safety and mobility features such as grab bars and wheelchair-friendly space, plus outdoor amenities like a fenced yard and covered patio that enable safe outdoor time and maneuvering. Several reviews contrasted this home favorably against other local alternatives, citing better supervision, cleanliness, and physical accommodations.

Dining and nutrition are generally seen as strengths but with some variation in opinion. Many reviewers praise fresh, homemade meals, nutritious offerings, and the facility’s willingness to accommodate dietary preferences. The presence of a nutritionist and the ability to provide special menus (including keto options) were repeatedly mentioned. However, a minority of reviews requested meal improvements or said dining could be better—indicating occasional inconsistency or differing expectations among families.

Social environment and activities receive positive notes: the home fosters a congenial, upbeat atmosphere with organized activities such as bingo, puzzles, piano performances, BBQ events, and exercise programs. Reviewers appreciated that residents seemed happy and engaged, with staff facilitating social and recreational programming. The small, group-home setting is repeatedly described as creating a familial feeling and closer interpersonal bonds among residents and staff.

Management, communication, and transitions are also highlighted. Families frequently reported smooth move-ins, thoughtful onboarding, and proactive communication from owners and managers. Staff were commended for being reliable, listening to family concerns, and coordinating care transitions. A few logistical problems appeared in the reviews—one family mentioned being sent to the wrong address and waiting, and multiple reviewers noted that the home is often fully occupied, leading to limited availability and occasional difficulty finding immediate placement.

Notable concerns and patterns: availability is a clear theme—this facility is often full, and several reviewers noted no rooms were available when they inquired. There are occasional administrative hiccups (the wrong-address incident is an example), and a small number of reviewers felt meals could be improved. Several reviews also referenced residents experiencing medical setbacks that required hospital transfers or rehab placements; while those transfers appear tied to the residents’ medical status rather than care lapses at the home, the recurrence of such events is worth noting for families with high-acuity needs. Additionally, reviewers pointed out that end-stage hospice patients may have limited ability to participate in group activities, which is an expected limitation but should be discussed with families during intake.

In summary, A Paradise for Parents (Campbell Avenue) is well-regarded for compassionate, high-quality, personalized care in a clean, home-like environment with solid safety features, diverse activity offerings, and attentive management. Most families felt their loved ones were safe, respected, and well cared for, and many reported health and mobility improvements tied to the facility’s programming. Prospective families should be prepared for limited availability and clarify expectations about dining consistency and how the home manages residents with rapidly changing medical needs, but the prevailing reviews frame the facility as a recommended, family-oriented option in the local care landscape.

About A Paradise for Parents Campbell Avenue

A Paradise for Parents Campbell Avenue sits right on 15292 Campbell Ave in a quiet Goodyear neighborhood, and folks tend to say it's a comfortable place with only ten residents per house, so everyone gets to know each other and the staff pretty well. The care here covers assisted living and memory care, so seniors who need help with daily things like dressing, meals, or remembering appointments get the support they need without full-time nursing. They've got both private and semi-private rooms that are easy to move around in, and every house has a secure, single-story layout that helps people feel safe, especially those who might wander.

Staff members here stick around for years, and folks talk about how caring and steady they are, with caregiver-to-resident ratios often as low as 1:3, which means people get lots of attention. The team follows strict safety rules like mask-wearing and vaccinations, and they focus a lot on building relationships, making sure every resident's needs and wishes matter. People with memory problems like Alzheimer's or dementia get help through routines and specialized care, sometimes using things like the Bredesen Protocol, and there's an Enhance Protocol for memory health, too.

You'll find home-cooked meals that meet different dietary needs, usually prepared right there in the house, and there's always a focus on nutritious food because everyone knows how important meals are as people get older. Activities are built around each person's skills and interests - everything from gentle group exercise with a personal trainer three to five days a week, to outings like boat rides on Lake Pleasant, walks in the neighborhood, trips to local fairs, shopping malls, or even catching a baseball game or a movie. Families and even pets can visit any time, so there's never the worry of missing out on seeing loved ones.

The setting feels like someone's home, with landscaped backyards for sitting outside and real furniture for relaxing, and there are church volunteers and other helpers dropping in regularly. The place has won awards like the Best Home in Goodyear AZ and Best of Senior Living, and reviewers almost always mention the friendly staff and good food. The company behind it, Purple Door, LLC, runs houses in Surprise, Goodyear, and Mesa, all with the same quiet, homey style. There aren't set visiting hours, so families come by as they please, and the goal's always been to help seniors keep living life as fully as possible, with respect for each person's background and traditions. They provide resources for family caregivers, too, so everyone supporting a senior can get advice and information. With steady staff and small group living, residents and their families report feeling cared for and engaged, and it's easy to see why people say there's a strong sense of community, where a person's needs and wishes come first.
