    About Extended Family

Extended Family offers a clean, well-kept group home where older adults live together and get to know each other, sharing meals and friendship in a home-like setting that feels peaceful and comfortable, so many families call it a home away from home. The staff provides personal care around the clock, helping with bathing, medicine, hygiene, and any health needs, and they always try to be kind and listen to concerns, whether that's with personal care, assisted living, or memory care for people with dementia or Alzheimer's. Each resident gets a personalized care plan, and the home welcomes people recovering from surgery, dealing with illness, or those who need extra attention after an injury, so some residents stay for a short time and others make it a long-term home. The homes have private or shared rooms, and the West location has only private rooms, each with easy access for wheelchairs, private baths, showers, linens, and personal phones.

Meals are homemade every day, and staff adjusts to different diets and preferences, while residents can join group or solo activities that help them stay social and active, like games, hobbies, and outings. Housekeeping, laundry, and all needed toiletries are provided, and the homes stay very tidy and organized. There's a nurse or doctor available when needed, and the team includes friendly caregivers always awake at night, plus staff ready to help with medications, wound care, or high-level needs like insulin, IVs, and monitoring. They also allow hospice and home health services, plus things like occupational and physical therapy, all based on what residents need. Extended Family helps coordinate care for out-of-state families and keeps open communication to make sure everyone's on the same page.

Residents feel safe since there are alert systems in each room, secure surroundings, and parking and transport for trips to appointments or errands, sometimes for an added fee. Dogs are welcome, bringing comfort to those who want to keep a pet by their side. The homes are small, licensed for up to ten people, and have a family-run feeling, making it easier for residents and their families to build trust with caregivers. Amenities include cable TV, Internet, and personal phone service, so residents can stay close to family and friends. On-site salons offer haircuts, manicures, and pedicures, and personal hygiene is managed respectfully. The care plans reflect each person's health, medication, and abilities, and families help shape care decisions. The community gives respite care and short-term stays, so loved ones are cared for during any transition or stressful times. Everything comes together to give a careful, thoughtful place for older adults who need help but want to keep their dignity and feel like part of a community.
