      Spotless resort-like home with caring

I'm very pleased with Sunny Hill - a well-run, spotless, resort-like home with private rooms and a lovely courtyard (grass, flowers, chickens and a peacock). The low-turnover staff are caring, considerate and customer-service oriented; managers are amazing, accommodating and lead by example, creating a family-like, welcoming atmosphere. My mom loves her hot tea (she says the food is a bit spicy) and visitors should note a visitation-after-five policy, but overall I'm impressed and would happily recommend it to friends and family.

      Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers praising both the quality of care and the physical environment at Sunny Hill Adult Care. Reviewers repeatedly call out attentive and considerate caregivers, a spotless and well-maintained facility, and private bedrooms. Families report a welcoming, joyful atmosphere and many say they would recommend the home to friends and family, indicating high overall satisfaction.

Care quality and staffing emerge as consistent strengths. Caregivers are described as taking good care of residents and being supportive and considerate. Management and lead staff are singled out as exemplary — described as amazing, customer-service oriented, and leading by example. Low staff turnover and a family-like environment are highlighted, suggesting continuity of care and stable relationships between staff and residents. The facility is also noted for being accommodating to individual requests (for example, a resident who enjoys hot tea), which points to personalized attention.

Facilities and environment receive frequent positive mention. The home is described as spotless and new/clean in multiple summaries, with resort-like accommodations and a courtyard that contributes to a pleasant, welcoming ambiance. Outdoor amenities are a distinctive feature: reviewers mention a backyard with grass and flowers and even animals (chickens and a peacock), which adds to the home's charm and opportunities for engagement. Private rooms are noted as a positive logistical and privacy benefit.

Management, operations, and community feel are also strengths. Reviewers describe the home as well-run, with managers who are open to requests and who encourage relationships among residents. The tone across reviews portrays an environment that fosters socialization and a supportive community, reinforced by comments about staff who model supportive behavior and a general sense that the facility prioritizes resident comfort and connection.

Dining and policies show the fewest concerns. One review specifically noted that the food was too spicy for the reviewer’s mother, indicating that meal seasoning or customization could be an area for attention for some residents. Another recurrent concern is a visitation policy that appears to restrict visits until after 5 PM; this policy was mentioned explicitly and could be a drawback for family members who need more flexible visiting hours.

In summary, the reviews paint Sunny Hill Adult Care as a clean, well-managed, and welcoming home with attentive staff and appealing outdoor spaces. Strengths cluster around caregiving quality, management responsiveness, facility cleanliness, and a family-like atmosphere. The most notable areas to monitor are dining preferences (seasoning/customization) and the visitation policy, which some families may find restrictive. Overall, feedback is highly positive and suggests that most families are pleased with the care and environment provided at Sunny Hill.

      About Sunny Hill Adult Care

Sunny Hill Adult Care sits in a quiet part of Scottsdale, Arizona, where you'll find a private, state-licensed residence that feels much like a home more than a large institution, and here you get a warm, family-like atmosphere with caregivers who treat everyone kindly and people get to know each other well thanks to the close-knit setting. The owner manages things herself, leading a team who help residents with daily tasks such as dressing, eating, medication, and bathing, so you won't have to worry about being left alone if you need help throughout the day and night because staff are around 24 hours a day.

Residents can choose a private bedroom, and the whole home's kept spotless and well maintained, with laundry and housekeeping handled for you, and meals are home cooked three times a day, always with snacks, with attention paid to special diets like diabetic or allergy needs, and someone helps with dining when it's needed, so mealtimes feel relaxed and no one's hurried. There are long landscaped walking paths and a backyard with grass and flowers, water fountains, and outdoor common areas, all set out for safe, easy walking or just sitting with a pet, since pets are allowed for a homey touch. The garden's open to everyone, and there's a comfortable TV room, too, where residents gather for movie nights or to watch favorite shows together, and cable TV's included.

People who live here take part in lots of daily activities, like games, birthday celebrations, socials, devotional services, and table games, along with other scheduled group events, so there's always something going on if you want to join in, and plenty of ways to relax if you'd rather keep to yourself. Nurses, a doctor, and dentists are available as needed, and there's physical, occupational, and speech therapy on site, along with podiatrist visits, so many basic health services are covered right at home. You'll find Wheelchair Accessible Showers throughout the home for those who need them, and the emergency alert system means staff can come quickly whenever someone needs help. Medication management is handled by trained staff, and people get extra support if living with memory loss or dementia, since Sunny Hill offers Memory Care as a specialized service and has programs to keep people active and comfortable.

The home is pet-friendly, and the staff are happy to arrange rides to appointments or outings, so no one feels cut off or stuck at home, and there's paved resident parking for those with their own cars. You'll find several options for care, including assisted living, independent living, board and care, adult day services, skilled nursing, long-term care, respite, hospice, and even home health care that's Medicare-certified, so people don't have to move as needs change, and couples or friends can stay in the same place. The management listens to resident requests, and the atmosphere is relaxed, nurturing, and supportive. Sunny Hill Adult Care doesn't feel overwhelming or crowded, since it's a smaller, more intimate setting where people settle in, form bonds, and let the caring staff take care of the details, so residents really can focus on enjoying their days in comfort and safety.
