    Caregivers excellent, pricey but worth

I helped my friend move into this small, homey place after a quick tour and fast placement - the location is great and we found the perfect spot on day one. The staff and wonderful caregiver have been enthusiastic and very helpful with medical care, serving home-cooked meals that exceeded our expectations; it's expensive but worth it. Only real downsides were almost no activities and a confusing staff change early on, but issues were handled promptly - my friend is very happy and I'm satisfied.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is strongly positive with several consistent strengths noted: location, staff quality, food, responsiveness of the placement process, and a small, home-like environment. Multiple reviewers highlight that the facility is well situated and that staff are friendly and capable. Caregivers are described as wonderful and enthusiastic, and reviewers specifically note help with medical care and that the care provided met or exceeded expectations. Several accounts emphasize quick placement—placement services made immediate contact, arranged fast tours, and in at least one case a family found the right fit on the first day—leading to early weeks that were reported as positive.

The facility itself is portrayed as a small, nice house with home-cooked meals. Dining is repeatedly praised, and the home-like setting appears to be a selling point for families who want a smaller, personal environment rather than an institutional atmosphere. The small size is tied to a sense of individualized attention; friends and residents who moved in are described as very happy and satisfied. Multiple reviewers explicitly stated they felt the cost was worth it, reinforcing a general impression of value despite pricing concerns.

Areas of concern are limited but important. One recurring issue is staff turnover or a period of employee change that caused confusion for residents and families. That transition is described as a difficult period, and at least one resident experienced confusion as a result. This suggests that while day-to-day staffing and caregiving are generally strong, transitions and staffing changes can have a meaningful negative impact on residents and should be managed carefully.

Another clear shortcoming noted is the lack of activities: reviewers explicitly mentioned 'no activities' or limited programming. For people seeking an active social calendar or structured engagement beyond basic care and meals, this facility may fall short. Finally, price is raised as a con—several reviewers called the facility expensive—though many still judged it worth the cost given the quality of care and atmosphere.

In summary, The Sanctuary of Sunrise appears to be a well-regarded, small, home-like senior living option with strong caregiving, good home-cooked food, and an efficient, responsive placement process that enables quick moves. The principal negatives are transitional staffing disruptions that caused confusion for at least some residents, a lack of organized activities, and a higher price point. Prospective residents and families should weigh the benefits of personalized care, location, and dining against the potential for limited activity programming and the need to inquire about staff stability and how management handles employee transitions.
