      Attentive clean homey small facility

I moved my mother to Elsie Place and it was the right decision - the CNAs, owner/nurse and staff are attentive, friendly and treat residents like family. The small, bright facility is very clean, well-maintained, homey, and offers personalized care with good communication and visitors always welcome. It's good value, with regular activities and a smooth transition, though there are limited private rooms and occasional staffing lapses (one-off missed care/sleepy nurse reports) and infrequent issues like cleaning fumes. Overall I'm very pleased and would recommend it to family and friends.

      Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Humanity Caring Hearts, LLC is largely positive, with a majority of reviewers emphasizing a small, home-like environment, consistently high cleanliness, and a warm, family-oriented culture. Many reviewers highlight personalized attention and individualized care, noting staff are kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. The presence of an on-site nurse owner and proactive management are repeatedly mentioned as strengths that contribute to confidence in clinical oversight and operational standards. Visitors commonly report feeling welcome and many reviewers explicitly state they would recommend the facility to family and friends.

Facilities and atmosphere receive consistently strong praise. Multiple reviewers describe the property as bright, cheery, and well-maintained, with common areas that receive plenty of natural light. Cleanliness is one of the most frequently noted positives—several reviewers call it the cleanest facility they've seen. The facility is portrayed as comfortable and pleasant, set in a nice neighborhood, and many family members describe a smooth transition when their loved one moved in. The small size is seen as a benefit for personalized attention and for fostering friendships among residents. However, a few people mentioned the physical layout was not the right fit for their situation, and the absence of private rooms was noted as a limitation for those who prioritize private accommodations.

Staff quality and management are central themes. Numerous reviews emphasize friendly, caring CNAs and staff who answer questions in detail, offer excellent attention, and provide proactive communication about residents' care. One reviewer explicitly called the owner "a gem," and several comments reflect appreciation for hands-on management and a no-tolerance-for-mediocrity leadership style. This contributes to perceptions of value for the cost of care. At the same time, there are isolated but serious negative reports: at least one reviewer described unresponsive staff, missed basic care (example: a missed diaper change), and an emergency hospital visit. Another concern raised was staff appearing sleepy. These reports suggest that while many families have very positive experiences, there may be variability in day-to-day caregiving performance or staffing issues that can lead to lapses in care.

Activities and social programming show mixed impressions. Some reviewers praise regular group activities and say residents are engaged and make friends, while others explicitly report little to no planned activities. This inconsistency indicates that activity offerings may vary over time or by household/shift and may be an area for the facility to standardize or better communicate to families. Dining receives positive mentions for being healthy and part of a generally attentive care approach.

Safety and quality concerns are relatively rare but notable. One reviewer reported fumes from oven cleaning as a safety hazard; that same review included broader allegations of poor care and unresponsiveness. Because most reviews are strongly positive while a few are severe in their criticism, the pattern is one of generally good performance with occasional serious incidents. Prospective families should weigh the high frequency of praise—particularly around cleanliness, compassionate staff, and management oversight—against the isolated reports of neglect and safety issues. It would be prudent to ask the facility about staffing levels, activity schedules, room options (private vs shared), recent safety protocols (including maintenance and cleaning procedures), and how they handle and communicate about adverse incidents to ensure expectations align with the mostly positive experiences reported by other families.
