      Excellent small home; caring staff

I placed my mom here and I'm very pleased. The staff are awesome—thoughtful, respectful and consistent—and the directors are professional, caring and organized. It’s a beautiful, quiet country home (only five residents) with single rooms, spotless housekeeping, laundry and beds made. Visiting nurse and PT support are available, pharmacy and local‑doctor arrangements are in place, and they offer two rides/month for appointments. Meals smell and taste great with flexible options. Trusted owners and good staff retention. One caveat: a non‑refundable deposit equal to the first month’s rent plus a steep processing fee; insurance coverage was still pending for us.

      Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with repeated praise for the directors, staff, and the home-like atmosphere. Reviewers consistently describe the directors as informative, professional, caring, and organized, and they highlight good staff retention as a marker of stable, experienced caregiving. The small size and quiet country setting are framed positively by multiple reviewers: the facility is described as beautiful and welcoming, offering a calm environment that supports personalized, respectful attention. Several specific caregiving supports are noted, including availability of a visiting nurse, physical therapy support, pharmacy arrangements, and an established relationship with a local doctor — all of which reinforce a picture of competent clinical coordination alongside daily assistance.

Care quality and staff demeanor are core strengths in the reviews. Words such as 'awesome staff,' 'thoughtful and respectful care,' and 'personalized attention' recur, indicating that residents receive attentive, individualized support. Practical daily services are also praised: rooms are clean, laundry is done and beds are made, and there is an emphasis on the professional nature of the assisted living operation. The single-room option and small resident population appear to contribute to privacy and individualized routines, which several reviewers appreciated when considering the facility for a family member.

Facility and dining impressions are favorable. Multiple reviewers mention a pleasant kitchen presence — the home 'smells of meals' — and highlight meal flexibility, suggesting staff are willing to accommodate preferences or needs. The country setting and intimate, home-like environment are repeatedly cited as positive features that differentiate the facility from larger institutional settings. The combination of staffing, cleanliness, and a well-kept physical environment led at least one reviewer to explicitly recommend the location for a family member.

There are, however, specific practical concerns and limitations called out in the summaries. Financially, the facility requires a non-refundable deposit equal to the first month's rent and charges a steep processing fee; these policies were mentioned directly and could be deterrents or points to clarify for prospective residents and families. Capacity is very small — the facility can accommodate only five residents — which has a dual implication: it underpins much of the personalized attention and quiet atmosphere, but it also limits availability and may constrain social variety or roommate options. Transportation is another notable limitation: reviewers report only two rides per month for appointments, which could be restrictive for residents with frequent medical appointments or social needs beyond that allotment. Finally, one summary notes that insurance coverage is pending, introducing potential uncertainty about payment arrangements or coverage that families may need to resolve.

In summary, Brookeville House is consistently portrayed as a small, well-run, compassionate assisted living option with strong leadership, stable staff, and a homelike, country atmosphere. It offers private rooms, attentive daily care, clean facilities, and medical coordination supports such as a visiting nurse, PT support, pharmacy arrangements, and a local physician relationship. Prospective residents and families should weigh those advantages against the facility's small scale, limited transportation allowance, and up-front financial policies (non-refundable first-month deposit and processing fee). Clarifying insurance acceptance and practical details about transportation and fees before committing would be advisable. For families prioritizing personalized, quiet, home-like assisted living with professional staff and clinical supports, Brookeville House appears to be a highly regarded option; for those needing more frequent transportation, larger social communities, or more flexible financial terms, the facility's scale and policies may be limiting.
