      Friendly caring staff but pricey

I had a very positive experience - friendly, caring owners and staff, long-tenured caregivers and an RN on-site 24/7 in a clean, pretty country setting with activities and hospice support. Communication was excellent and residents seemed happy, though food variety is limited, I noticed minor overmedication concerns, and it felt crowded. It's a top-two choice for me but quite expensive and currently limited in availability, so recommend if your budget allows.

      Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews for Fleurdleys Inc. are predominantly positive, with multiple commenters praising the quality of care, the compassion of staff, and the upkeep of the facility. Key strengths repeatedly cited are clinical oversight (an RN available 24/7), long-tenured and trained caregivers, and an owner who is licensed and professionally involved. Several reviewers explicitly called it the best personal care home they had seen, and many described their experience as wonderful, recommending the community to others.

Care quality and clinical oversight: Reviewers consistently emphasize strong clinical and medication-management practices. The presence of an RN around the clock and RN-led training on medication administration is noted as a significant reassurance. Hospice support is available and positively mentioned, indicating the facility can coordinate end-of-life or palliative care needs. That said, a recurring concern is that only the owner is licensed/professionally trained (implying the rest of the caregiving team may not hold professional licenses), and a few reviewers noted worries about possible overmedication — an item that would merit follow-up for prospective families.

Staffing and communication: Staffing is a clear asset in reviewers’ minds. The staff are described as caring, friendly, attentive, and long-tenured; owners are characterized as friendly and involved. Communication from staff and management receives praise for being clear and timely. At the same time, a few reviewers described caregivers as busy, which suggests that while staff are caring, there may be times when attention is stretched thin due to workload or occupancy levels.

Facilities, setting, and atmosphere: The property is described as clean, pretty, cozy, and situated in a pleasant country setting. Many reviewers liked the brighter, attractive aspects of the home; however, some compared Fleurdleys unfavorably against other homes by calling it darker or noting a negative vibe in a minority of comments. The facility is also described as crowded at times, and multiple reviewers mentioned that there were no rooms available, indicating strong demand that could affect privacy or staff responsiveness.

Dining and activities: Reviewers said activities are offered and that residents appear happy and engaged. Dining receives mixed commentary: food is described as “okay,” with several mentions that casseroles are common and the menu could use more variety. This suggests that while nutritional needs are being met, there is room to enhance meal variety and culinary appeal.

Cost, availability, and value: Cost perceptions are mixed but important. Several reviews call Fleurdleys expensive or raise affordability concerns; others describe it as reasonably priced or good value for money. This split suggests that while many families feel the services justify the cost, price sensitivity is an issue for some prospective residents. High demand (crowding and no vacancies reported) also affects availability and could contribute to perceptions of high cost.

Notable patterns and caveats: The most frequently mentioned strengths are clinical oversight (24/7 RN), caring and long-standing staff, cleanliness, and good communication. The most prominent concerns are licensing depth beyond the owner, potential overmedication, menu limitations, a sometimes crowded environment, and varying perceptions of price. Also observed is a pattern that the community may be best suited to ambulatory residents who do not require extensive outside socialization — families seeking more active external engagement for a resident might find the setting less ideal.

Bottom line: Fleurdleys Inc. presents as a well-run, clean, and caring personal care home with strong clinical oversight and a compassionate staff. It earns high marks for communication, hospice coordination, and overall resident happiness. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility’s strengths against concerns about cost, occasional crowding, limited menu variety, and the fact that licensing beyond the owner appears limited. For those prioritizing experienced, attentive caregivers and round‑the‑clock RN coverage, reviewers suggest Fleurdleys is a top option; for those prioritizing lower cost, broader professional licensure among staff, or more active external social programming, it may be worthwhile to ask targeted questions or compare alternatives.

      About Fleurdleys Inc.

Fleurdleys Inc. sits out in the country on six acres of woods near South Fort Worth and stays pretty quiet, with a gated entry for extra security, and people seem to appreciate that slower pace, especially since the place only holds about 10 or so folks as a Small Type B Assisted Living home. Staff have been there a long time and know how to care for seniors, and they're always nearby since they give care 24/7-helping with things like bathing, dressing, taking medicine, daily chores, and moving around, which is good for people needing more hands-on support. The community has memory care services in a secure setting, with trained staff for Alzheimer's and related needs, and if someone wanders toward an exit, the alert system lets staff know.

Different living spaces are available, semi-private and private rooms, all fully furnished, and some even come with a kitchenette. Staff arrange meals, often home-cooked and sensitive to allergies or diabetes, with meals served in a dining room or available all day, and they'll adjust for special diets. People keep busy with activities both on and offsite-things like movie nights, group outings, devotional services, and church visits for those wanting spiritual support. There's hair and nail care, a beauty and barber area, and spaces to visit indoors or outdoors, plus walking paths and a garden. The surroundings look homelike and clean, with a cozy, close-knit feel that many seniors find comforting, and you'll hear about residents gathering together or getting help from familiar staff, like a real neighborhood.

Staff include a licensed nursing facility administrator and a registered nurse, and there's a dentist, a doctor on call, and a nurse on call as well. Therapy services like podiatrist, physical, occupational, and speech therapy are available, plus a dentist drops by. They provide hospice and respite care too, meaning someone can stay for a short time so caregivers at home get a break. Families who need it can use VA benefits or long-term care insurance, which is helpful since rates start around $583-published prices are available. The home has Wi-Fi, cable, a phone in the room, and transportation for appointments or errands. Common areas-inside and outside-give people space to relax or enjoy the fresh air. Wheelchair-accessible showers and non-ambulatory care mean people with limited mobility still get around safely, plus staff offer help with laundry, linens, housekeeping, and even dry cleaning.

It's a Christian-based home, focusing on love, care, dignity, and family values, with devotional options for those interested. The community is small, with capacity for just 10 to 13 seniors, so everyone gets more personalized care and the staff tailor help to each resident's needs. Regular church groups visit, offering support for spiritual needs, and staff take time with every resident to make sure they feel at home. Fleurdleys Inc. accepts both men and women, though not both at the same time, and has a solid reputation for over two decades for quality care, earning a 4.0-star rating considered excellent among families who've reviewed it. Residents get access to parking, dining options, and scheduled group activities to keep up with friends and stay engaged. The place really aims for a homely, secure, and loving environment designed for seniors who want support and a strong sense of community, and it stays licensed and closely managed to meet all state and local regulations.
