      Caring, clean facility; minor issues

I'm very pleased with this facility - the owner/manager is responsive, the staff are consistently kind, caring and professional, and the dementia/memory-care services are excellent. The home is exceptionally clean, meals and activities keep residents engaged, and having on-site nursing gives me confidence. Minor drawbacks: some cramped rooms and an unkempt outdoor area, but overall I highly recommend it.

      Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews for Total Loving Care, Inc. are overwhelmingly positive with repeated emphasis on exceptional cleanliness, compassionate caregiving, and strong dementia/memory-care expertise. Multiple reviewers explicitly state they would highly recommend the facility, and recurring language describes the environment as very clean, odor-free, and home-like. The tone across reviews is one of trust and relief: families frequently note that their loved ones are treated with dignity, well cared for, and emotionally supported.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme is the quality of the staff. Reviewers consistently describe caregivers as kind, patient, respectful, conscientious, and knowledgeable—particularly in the context of dementia and memory care. Several mentions of an on-site RN, a responsive doctor, and an involved owner/manager reinforce a perception of clinical oversight and engaged leadership. Emotional support for both residents and families is highlighted, and anecdotal notes—such as staff managing aggression and helping residents adjust—underscore the staff's capability and dedication. Many reviewers explicitly praise the owner/manager for responsiveness and hands-on involvement, and multiple accounts mention that ownership positively influences resident happiness.

Facilities and environment: Interior spaces receive strong praise: reviewers repeatedly call the facility very clean, orderly, and comfortable with a home-like atmosphere. The appearance of the interior and the general upkeep inside are described positively across many reviews. However, there are notable caveats about exterior spaces and some physical limitations. A few reviewers point out an unappealing outdoor area — knee-deep grass, an unused backyard, rickety chairs, and an uncovered patio are specifically mentioned — indicating uneven maintenance outside. One review raises safety concerns such as blocked hallways and slick floors, which could impact mobility and fall risk. Another practical concern is the presence of cramped three-person rooms and shared bathrooms in some areas, which may affect privacy and comfort for certain residents.

Dining and activities: The facility’s on-site kitchen and nutritious meals are mentioned positively in several summaries, and many family members say residents like the food. Nonetheless, a few reviewers offer milder feedback, describing the food as merely “okay.” Activities are noted as a strength: families appreciate daily activities, outdoor activities when provided, and a personable activity director who helps residents stay socially engaged. A small number of stays were short (due to resident passing), limiting some families’ opportunities to fully assess dining or activity programs, which accounts for a few neutral or incomplete impressions.

Safety, capacity, and special cases: The facility is mentioned as willing to accept residents with challenging behaviors (including aggression), which is a positive for families seeking placements for higher-need individuals. Reviews also point to higher-level care availability, and the presence of clinical staff (RN and responsive physician) is reassuring for those with complex medical needs. Conversely, isolated reports of safety hazards and shared, cramped rooms suggest that prospective residents and families should tour the space carefully and inquire about room options and safety protocols.

Value, management, and overall recommendation: Several reviewers explicitly call the facility good value and say services and medications were provided as promised. Management involvement is repeatedly cited as a differentiator — a responsive owner/manager and caring staff are credited with creating an upbeat, positive atmosphere. Only occasional mentions of cost being an issue appear, and most reviewers express no regret about their placement decisions. In summary, the reviews paint a picture of a well-run, compassionate, and clean memory-care-focused home with strong staff engagement and good clinical oversight, tempered by occasional concerns about outdoor maintenance, some safety/physical space constraints, and minor variability in dining impressions. Prospective families should prioritize a personal walkthrough to assess outdoor areas, room configurations, and any safety issues relevant to their loved one’s needs.

      About Total Loving Care, Inc.

Total Loving Care, Inc. is an assisted living community in New Caney, Texas, that's licensed to care for up to 12 residents, focusing on both assisted living and memory care, including Alzheimer's. It sits in a peaceful, tree-filled subdivision and has a brick exterior that looks like a regular home, aiming to provide a home-like feeling with updated, comfortable rooms, both private and shared, for people who need help with daily living. The founder is a registered nurse who started the community in 2002 and spent twenty years working in geriatrics; she trains staff who are available 24/7-there are always registered nurses, licensed care assistants, and a Family Nurse Practitioner on call, and visiting doctors, podiatrists, neurologists, and other specialists look after residents too. Staff members help with medication, bathing, dressing, moving around, meals, feeding, grooming, laundry, and incontinent care, and they always try to match people's personal care needs and preferences, offering both short stays for respite and long-term care for those who want to age in place. The setting's clean and calm, and there's a secure environment with door codes, alarms, a sprinkler system, and fire alarms, which helps protect everyone, especially those with memory loss who might wander. The facility's non-profit and has won the Outstanding Care award for seven years. Staff are CPR certified, and the founder, who's also a nursing home administrator, ensures everyone's trained to focus on dignity, gentle support, and companionship. Residents have the chance to join bingo outings twice a week, enjoy shaded outdoor gazebos, and even do some gardening if they want. There's access to mobile x-rays, pharmacy and dental services, and even barber and salon care. Meals are made to suit people's needs, and there's free cable TV, security and safety, and regular housekeeping, though dry cleaning isn't included. Pets are generally not allowed, but there are some options to discuss. The administration is careful and trustworthy, aiming to build personal relationships and create a supportive, loving environment for both residents and their families, and there's always help to handle emergencies, evacuations, or nighttime care. Total Loving Care, Inc. isn't meant to feel like an institution-it's designed to be a comfortable home, especially welcoming to people who need memory care or support as they grow older.
