      Lovely home, happy but costly

I've lived here seven years in a very nice, small home and I'm very happy and feel well taken care of. There are no nurses on site, and pricing starts around $4,000 with other expenses that can make affordability a concern. Overall, it's a lovely home but budget accordingly.

      Summary review

Overall sentiment from the reviews is positive with a clear emphasis on a comfortable, home-like setting and consistent, attentive care. Multiple reviewers describe My Country Home Inc as a "very nice" and "nice small home," and the fact that at least one resident has been there for seven years suggests stability and satisfaction over the long term. Phrases such as "very happy" and "well taken care of" point to a prevailing perception that daily care needs and resident well-being are being met in a way that families and residents appreciate.

Care quality and staff: Reviewers explicitly state they feel "well taken care of," which indicates staff are providing reliable support and that the caregiving approach is meeting resident expectations. However, a notable and specific staff-related limitation appears in the reviews: there are "no nurses" on site. That is a concrete fact mentioned and should be considered when evaluating the scope of medical or nursing care available. The presence of satisfied residents alongside the absence of nurses suggests the facility may provide good assisted-living or personal care services but likely does not offer in-house skilled nursing or clinical care.

Facilities and environment: The setting is characterized as a "small home" and "very nice home," implying a residential, intimate atmosphere rather than an institutional one. This small-home environment is repeatedly highlighted as a positive aspect and likely contributes to the personal attention cited by reviewers. There are no specific comments about dining rooms, menus, common areas, or the condition of physical plant beyond the general positive descriptors, so no definitive conclusions about amenities can be drawn from the available summaries.

Dining, activities, and daily life: The provided review snippets do not mention dining quality, social programming, or activity schedules. Because the reviews emphasize happiness and being well cared for, it is reasonable to infer daily needs are being met, but there is no direct evidence about the variety or quality of meals, recreational programming, or therapeutic activities. Prospective residents or families seeking specifics in these domains should request more detailed information or a visit.

Management and cost: A prominent concern across the reviews is affordability. Reviewers call out "high expenses" and note a starting price of around "$4,000," which is listed as a negative factor. This indicates that while care and environment are positively viewed, cost is a barrier or worry for some. The combination of a relatively high starting fee and the absence of on-site nurses raises an important planning consideration: families should weigh whether the facility's level of care aligns with medical needs relative to its cost and whether additional outside clinical services might be required (potentially increasing overall expense).

Notable patterns and takeaways: The dominant pattern is a trade-off—strong satisfaction with the home's atmosphere and caregiving versus tangible concerns about cost and scope of medical staffing. The reviews consistently highlight a pleasant, small, stable environment with residents who feel happy and well cared for, but they also consistently flag affordability and the lack of nursing staff. For decision-making, these reviews suggest My Country Home Inc is well-suited for residents who need dependable personal or assisted care in a small, homelike setting and who either do not require ongoing nursing care or have other arrangements for clinical services. However, cost-conscious families or those needing in-house nursing should probe pricing structure, available levels of care, and any additional fees before committing.

      About My Country Home Inc

My Country Home Inc. sits over in Haymarket, VA, running as a private board and care home that provides seniors with personalized care in a quiet, laid-back setting, and folks who live there seem to like the warm, family-style atmosphere, with staff on hand to help with things like bathing, dressing, and getting around, and they'll even take care of medication, errands, housekeeping, and meals-including vegetarian options, so residents don't have to worry about those chores. The facility offers several types of senior care, like assisted living, independent living, memory care, respite care, nursing services, high acuity care, ambulatory and incontinence care, plus special programs for families and caregivers, which makes it easier for everyone to understand long-term care options-or so people say. Residents can stay in a range of places, from small apartments and condos to townhomes or shared houses, all with common features like tubs for bathing and wheelchair accessible showers, and the place allows both male and female residents, also letting folks bring pets, so dogs and cats are welcome most of the time.

The property includes lobby spots, an indoor atrium, ground floor rooms, safety measures like a security gate or wander guard, and other special areas like raised garden beds, butterfly or hummingbird gardens, outdoor patios, walking paths, and enclosed courtyards where people can enjoy fresh air and watch wildlife. There's plenty to do-guests can visit beauty salons, fitness centers, ballrooms, billiards lounges, movie rooms, and swimming pools, plus activity rooms for crafts, games, meetings, off-site trips, and faith services for different beliefs, including Christian devotional meetings. Folks get creative and stay busy, with support for personal hobbies and group events, and there's always a nurse, doctor, or dentist on call if needed, and a podiatrist who stops by, too. Those who need extra help can get occupational, physical, or speech therapy; the staff speak many languages, such as French, Spanish, Tagalog, Mandarin, and Russian, along with a bunch of others, and they even offer cultural services to match.

Nearby, you'll find handy locations like shops, cafes, pharmacies, parks, restaurants, hospitals, and doctors' offices, which means residents don't feel like they're out of touch with the town, and there's parking for both residents and guests, as well as transportation services for errands or appointments, sometimes complimentary, sometimes for a fee. Folks who want to compare communities can ask local advisors for help, and there's a free consultation service so families can ask questions and see how this place stacks up with others within a certain distance.

The rooms and buildings, which include spots known as Pacific Place, Citibank Plaza, and Wafi Mall, are part of larger complexes with towers and concourses that have features like kiosks, retail shops, and cafes, so there's always something going on, and you often see residents mingling in outdoor or indoor areas-some like the library, others prefer the game room, while some like to sit out in the garden or watch birds. The staff keeps things simple and peaceful, respecting privacy, enforcing no smoking indoors, and letting people live as independently as they can, offering help when needed but still giving folks a chance to do as much as they're able.

My Country Home Inc. runs with a state license, has a Medicare provider number, and follows privacy rules, and overall, people who've lived there rate it about 4.5 stars, mostly for the friendly service, simple comforts, and the sense that everyone's part of a real community, not just a business.
