Avery Point is a senior living community for people aged 62 and older, located at 1000 Avery Point Way in Henrico, Virginia, just outside of Richmond. This community opened on November 1, 2022, and is managed by Erickson Senior Living. The executive director is Bryan Bee. Avery Point has independent living apartments, with floor plans like The Cranford, The Dumont, The Northvale, and others. Apartment homes have inviting exteriors, balconies, and landscaped grounds, and they're maintenance-free, with all repairs, heating, air conditioning, property taxes, and most utilities included. There's one-floor living in every residence, and prices for homes range from below $300,000 for studios to more than $450,000 for larger two-bedroom units, with entrance and monthly care fees. Pets are welcome, and reserved parking is offered.
Residents get professional landscaping, recycling, trash collection, and have cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a phone service with unlimited calls. Meals are provided with flexible dining at several on-site restaurants, and there's also a general store, bar and lounge, and clubhouse for socializing. Glass-enclosed, climate-controlled walkways connect residents to the pool, fitness center, and dining spots. The fitness center has treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, yoga mats, and group classes, while the outdoor swimming pool lets people swim or just sit beside the water. Sports courts for pickleball and bocce ball are on campus too.
Avery Point covers 94 acres, giving room for walking paths, gardens, and outside spaces. There's an inviting library with a fireplace, comfortable chairs, and computers. Movie nights, music programs, and a theater for film screenings happen regularly, and residents can join arts and crafts, classes, and clubs. Daily transportation services take people to local shopping areas, and pharmacy delivery services are available. Security is a focus, with a 24-hour system, emergency response services, and a gated entrance.
The on-campus medical center is staffed by full-time doctors from the Erickson Health Medical Group of Virginia, and handles health care needs large and small. There's daily personal care help like bathing, dressing, and medication management. Staff provide diabetes care, incontinence care, non-ambulatory care, memory care for those with dementia, hospice care, and help for people who need a higher level of support. Long-term and assisted living care are also offered on site through Avery Point Inc. The campus is a continuing care retirement community, so if a resident's needs change, extra health services like skilled nursing are on hand.
Avery Point's master plan includes more care levels for residents with different needs. Activities logging, event content sharing, and a social platform bring people together, and there's a privacy policy and privacy center for data protection. Avery Point has consulting and project management services, with professionals helping residents and businesses through different solutions. Residents can pick the home style and floor plan that fits them, from classic studios to larger two-bedroom units, all designed with comfort and ease of use in mind.
