    Upgraded facility, caring staff, recommended

I live here and appreciate the remodeling (new carpets) - the facility already feels upgraded. Dining can be bland and inconsistent, likely due to kitchen turnover. The staff are professional, compassionate, and go above and beyond; they create a warm, safe, at-home community. I highly recommend this place.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is clearly positive, driven primarily by consistent, strong praise for the staff and the environment. Reviewers repeatedly describe the team as friendly, professional, compassionate, and willing to go above and beyond for residents. Multiple comments indicate residents and families feel safe, secure, and at home at Edgewood Park Place, with several reviewers characterizing their stay as exceptional and explicitly recommending the community. The sense of community and the professionalism of staff are recurring themes that form the foundation of the facility’s positive reputation.

Care quality and staff performance emerge as the strongest assets. The reviews emphasize not only basic competence but also heartfelt engagement: staff are described as wonderful, compassionate, and proactive in meeting resident needs. This creates an environment where residents feel cared for and secure. The repetition of terms like "professional" and "goes above and beyond" suggests reliable day-to-day operations by caregivers and support personnel, and that management has staffed roles with people who foster trust and rapport with residents.

Facilities are noted to be in a state of improvement. Several reviewers mention remodeling and carpet replacement as part of upgrades to the property. While these items are framed as upgrades intended to modernize or refresh the facility, they are also listed as ongoing work — which may introduce temporary disruption or visible construction. The presence of active upgrades indicates management investment in the physical plant, but it is also a practical consideration for prospective residents and visitors who may encounter work-in-progress conditions during tours or short-term visits.

Dining and kitchen services are the most frequently noted area of concern. Reviewers mention issues with food flavor and a perceived lack of cooking quality. These critiques are compounded by reports of turnover among kitchen staff, which appears to have contributed to inconsistency in meal quality and preparation. The dining experience stands out as the primary negative theme across the summaries: while other aspects of life at the community are praised, food quality and staff stability in the kitchen are areas that reviewers repeatedly flag as needing attention.

Activities and community life are implicated positively by comments about the sense of community; although specific activities are not detailed in these summaries, the overall tone indicates residents feel connected and supported. Management and leadership receive indirect praise through the professionalism of staff and the ongoing investments in facility upgrades. The combination of strong caregiving and capital improvements paints a picture of a community committed to quality, even while operational challenges—particularly within dining services—remain.

In summary, Edgewood Park Place is consistently viewed as a warm, safe, and professionally run community with standout staff who foster a genuine sense of home and community. The facility is undergoing physical upgrades that should improve the environment long-term but may cause temporary inconvenience. The most notable and recurring area for improvement is dining: reviewers cite underwhelming flavor, perceived deficiencies in cooking quality, and kitchen staff turnover leading to inconsistency. For prospective residents and families, the key trade-off appears to be between excellent personal care, atmosphere, and community versus a dining program that may currently be in transition and in need of stabilization and quality improvements.

    About Edgewood Park Place

Edgewood Park Place, at 1930 E 12th Street in Casper, Wyoming, is an assisted living community that's been operating since 1984 under different ownerships, with Edgewood Healthcare acquiring it in 2017. The building holds 60 units and provides both long-term accommodations and short stays for seniors who need care, and it's set up so residents can live as independently as possible but still have help nearby day and night. The apartments are one or two bedrooms, with full kitchens, good storage, climate controls, fire detection systems, and emergency pendants for extra safety, and there's services like meal reminders, laundry, housekeeping, linen services, apartment maintenance, transportation scheduling, grocery delivery, and three meals a day with snacks.

Staff includes an administrator, nurse, and resident assistants who monitor health, manage medications, help with diabetes care and incontinence, and set up individualized care plans. Health programs here cover diabetes management, skin and nail care, disability support, and there are outpatient therapy options like physical and occupational therapy. The community looks at walking ability with gait speed analysis, helps people recover at home, and provides home health and hospice care for comfort during illness. Seniors can get timely health care, and there are extra supports for keeping up daily routines, even help improving the home with ramps or bathroom updates.

Edgewood Park Place lets residents join both quiet and social activities, from gardening in the outdoor courtyards to arts and crafts, group exercises, gardening, movie viewings, games, sunroom visits, time in a library, and even services at its chapel or beauty salon. There's gaming, social sitting areas, and family-style spaces for reconnecting. When it comes to transportation, the community handles bus services, non-emergency rides for medical visits, local transit, and scheduling. There's also support for food needs, SNAP food vouchers, home-delivered meals, and help with groceries, along with pantries and even soup kitchens nearby.

Seniors at Edgewood Park Place get medical equipment if needed, bathroom and home modifications, and accessibility technology. There's health clinics, screenings, pharmacies, urgent care, and health fairs. Staff help with daily living but also dementia and memory care, mental health support, independent living, 55+ lifestyles, day care for adults, and secured supportive housing, plus respite care for temporary stays. Veterans get specialized support and help applying for benefits. There's legal aid, elder abuse prevention, advocacy, and disability-specific aid, including home rehab grants and support groups.

Residents can keep their pets and choose from three levels of care, with staff deciding what fits best with changing needs. There are programs for healthy aging and outpatient therapy, and people can pay through Medicaid. The environment aims for a warm, family-like feel, with both independence and safety in mind. The place rounds out care with regular staff check-ins, health monitoring, medication help, and a general focus on helping seniors stay healthier and more independent for longer. Edgewood Park Place is open every hour, every day, and keeps a focus on comfort, routine, and making life a little easier for those living there.
