    Beautiful, thoughtful campus with amenities

I toured Revel and was very impressed - beautiful, thoughtfully designed campus with stylish apartments, green space, two restaurants and resort-style amenities (fitness center, saltwater pool, salon) plus plenty of activities. The staff were warm, attentive and knowledgeable, the tour (even FaceTime/virtual) was thorough, and move-in help felt personalized. Great food, engaged residents and a welcoming, active vibe - I'm pleased and would recommend it to families seeking comfortable independent living.

    Summary of reviews

Revel Scottsdale is presented in the reviews as a newly developed, upscale independent‑living community with a strong resort aesthetic and extensive amenity set. Reviewers consistently emphasize contemporary architectural detail, well‑kept grounds, and multiple outdoor areas, lending the campus a resort‑style atmosphere. Housing options are described as spacious, stylish, and customizable, and several reviewers highlighted cottages and apartment finishes as a selling point.

Staff and management receive consistently positive descriptions. Visitors and prospective residents describe sales and front‑office teams as welcoming, informative, and attentive; examples include thorough in‑person tours, virtual walkthroughs, and personalized follow‑up. Operational teams such as maintenance and dining staff are noted as responsive and helpful. These impressions align with descriptions of an organized tour process and smooth move‑in experiences for some residents.

Dining and food service are recurring strengths. Reviews cite chef‑created menus, made‑to‑order meals, plentiful portions, and multiple dining venues including two on‑site restaurants. Mealtime experiences are portrayed as social and restaurant‑quality, with specific events and themed meals contributing to community life.

Activities and lifestyle programming are broad and frequent. The community offers fitness classes, trivia, cornhole, bridge, museum outings, movie nights, and recurring special events (for example, Taco Tuesday and ice cream socials). Reviewers characterize the resident population as active and socially engaged; the programming appears intentionally oriented toward residents seeking an energetic, participatory lifestyle.

Facilities and services include a well‑equipped fitness center, saltwater pool and spa with lift chairs, outdoor barbecue areas, underground parking, and on‑site transportation via a Revel van. The campus location is convenient to shopping, biking trails, and golf, which reviewers cite as complementary lifestyle assets.

Notable patterns and caveats: reviewers frequently frame Revel as an independent living community rather than an assisted‑care or memory‑care provider; families and prospective residents should therefore assess medical and long‑term care needs in advance. The community is described as premium in price; while many reviewers state that cost is justified by quality, the pricing model and all‑inclusive services could be a limiting factor for some households. Several comments reference ongoing construction or recently opened units, which suggests the site may still be completing build‑out and could experience early operational adjustments typical of new communities. Finally, the programming emphasis on active, social engagement is a clear strength for many but may not align with those seeking a quieter or less active environment.

Overall, Revel Scottsdale is represented as a well‑designed, staff‑forward independent living option with robust dining, amenities, and social programming. Prospective residents and families should weigh the community’s premium positioning, current new‑community status, and the independent‑living focus against personal care needs and budget considerations.

    About Revel Scottsdale

Revel Scottsdale, located at 8225 E Indian Bend Rd in Scottsdale, AZ, is an independent living community for adults 55 and older that's been around for 7 years and is run by Ms. Shannen Desautelle as a sole proprietorship, getting an A+ rating from the BBB though it isn't accredited, and it's got a reputation for being a welcoming place where staff are helpful, joyful, and kind, and people feel a sense of community like a friendly village. The apartments come in studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom layouts, featuring modern plank flooring, oversized windows, sleek kitchens, and washers and dryers, where residents pay memberships that cover apartment homes, utilities, housekeeping, dining credits, and many amenities, so there's less hassle for folks looking to live as simply as possible. Residents can bring some pets, join in all sorts of social activities in places like the creative studio, pub-style dining at The Social Club, or have a chef-prepared meal at the Ovation restaurant, and since seasonal menus are cooked to order, it keeps things interesting.

There's a continuum of care on one campus for independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing, along with help for daily activities if needed-so residents can stay as their health needs change, and there are specialized spaces to support those living with Alzheimer's or dementia. Everyone gets access to a state-of-the-art fitness center, a heated saltwater pool and spa with a splash pad, a theater to watch movies, a full-service salon, wellness services, group and private transportation, and weekly housekeeping. The facility encourages social engagement and offers activities such as bridge, scrabble, cards, mahjong, fitness classes, trivia contests, , and swimming, plus group entertainment like musicians, comedians, singers, and visiting authors as regular guests. There's Wi-Fi/high-speed internet, as well as handicap accessibility for those who need it, and since the community uses a membership model, folks get added benefits like the Revel Travel Club, access to programming and events, and a 24-hour concierge.

Revel Scottsdale's focus on the four pillars of wellness-spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social-shows up in the way its programming, arts and crafts spaces, and travel options keep people active and connected. Staff respond to technical or customer service questions by email, weekly housekeeping keeps things tidy, maintenance is included, and residents have choices for group or private transportation without extra fees. Details about parking, outdoor spaces, and pet amenities aren't provided, but the apartments are built for people who want to thrive with a balance of privacy, activity, and support as needed. It isn't currently listed for sale or rent, but they offer 360° virtual tours for each floor plan so people can see what's available, and interested folks are welcome to schedule tours, enjoy meals, and even stay overnight to get a feel for the place before deciding.
